Today I am thrilled to share this traditional, family centric Welsh Wedding with hints of orange & red.
Images were captured by LJM Photography.
LJ or Lisa-Jane is a Northern Irish lass who is now based in Wales.
She absolutely loves stories & finds that photography is one of her favourite ways to tell them.
As well as digital photography she loves to shoot with her Diana camera and her Fuji Instax Polaroid and experiments with classic film photography.
She says of her work and the couple…
“I studied Photography for Fashion and Advertising and soon realised how much I love working with and photographing people.”
“As well as still shooting fashion & commercial work, I absolutely love photographing weddings, doing family portraits and events, and business headshots.”
“I’m also getting into a bit of adventure photography and recently went to Austria with Adidas Outdoor to try out some of their new collection in the alps and later did a fashion shoot for them in Wentwood Forest in Newport and also in my studio.”
“I love the variety of work that I do throughout the year. I think that the various photographic projects that I do influences my wedding photography and keeps pushing me to be more creative and individual with every wedding I photograph.”
“Sophie and Phil were blessed with a gloriously sunny day.”
“Their venue, the Mansion house in Llansteffan was a gorgeous reception venue with stunning views of the beach where we shot Sophie & Phil’s couple photographs after the ceremony.”
“With huge light up letters, beautiful flowers by Blodau Blodwen Flowers, rare vintage cars, sunshine all day, fun-loving guests, a stunning venue, couple shots on Llansteffan beach, it was a wedding photographer’s dream.”
“After getting ready at Sophie’s parents house in the morning, we set off for the church in a couple of the most beautiful wedding cars I’ve ever seen.”
“My personal favourite was the 1929 REO Flying Cloud, which not only looks stunning but has the best name of any car ever!”
“Top Class Cars, who provided the cars for the day, are the proud owners of the only two genuine vintage 1929 Reo Flying Clouds of this year and model in the UK; and with only 86 left worldwide.”
“After the beautiful ceremony we had a little drive in from the church to Llansteffan beach where we stopped to take some photographs of the newly weds. ”
“After soaking up some rays we headed off to rejoin the guests at the Mansion House LLansteffan for a delicious meal and plenty of laughs and tears throughout the speeches.”
“Having never been to Carmarthen before, Sophie and Phil had completely sold the place to me by the end of the day.”
“It’s a truly beautiful part of Wales that I would happily revisit, and Sophie & Phil are one of the sweetest couples I’ve come across.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever photographed a bride who has giggled or smiled more than Sophie, as you can see from the photographs!”
“Sophie & Phil are such a sweet couple and it was evident not he day how excited and happy they were to start their married life together.”
” I still say to people that Sophie was one of the happiest brides I’ve ever met. She didn’t stop smiling and laughing the whole day.”
“Their guests were so friendly too, and equally as fun-loving as the bride and groom, and made me feel so much a part of the celebrations.”
I now hand over to beautiful Bride Sophie…
How did you meet?
“We met on a night out in our local town.”
“He told me that he’d seen me working behind a bar and wanted to say something for a few weeks but hadn’t had the confidence until he saw me out dancing himself.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged 7 months after meeting whilst on our first holiday together in Turkey; it was a lovely private moment that we treasure.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We both knew from the outset that we wanted a very traditional wedding filled with family and friends… And food.”
“Guided by tradition and not wanting anything overly fussy the planning was fairly easy and stress free.”
When did you get married?
“We were married on the 8th of August, 2015 in Dewi Sant Church, Tumble.”
What was the best bit of your day?
Sophie: “I loved the journey in the car from the church, and the time we spent on the beach having couples pictures.”
“It was lovely to get some time alone together right after the ceremony to just enjoy each other’s company.”
Phil: “The ceremony was my favourite bit, it was very nerve wrecking but a great moment.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Don’t let other people dissuade you from what you really want and be very organised, a good spreadsheet is a must.”
Thank you so much to Lisa Jane for allowing me to share her incredible photography and this glorious Welsh Wedding.
