Today I am thrilled to share the exquisite vintage inspired Wedding of Cathryn and Tony with a stunning House of Mooshki Dress and lots of handmade touches.
Images of the day were captured by Cassandra Lane Photography.
Cassandra Lane is a wedding photographer based in Manchester and is available for weddings across the UK.
Cassandra’s photography style is creative, contemporary and just a little bit quirky.
Cassandra says of the couples Big Day…
“Cathryn & Tony were married at St. Mary the Virgin Church in the pretty village of Eccleston, Chester.”
“They had planned a vintage inspired wedding with lots of personal touches incorporated into their relaxed reception at Eccleston Village Hall, just a stones throw from the church.”
“Cathryn wore a fabulous short 1950s style wedding dress and her sisters and nieces made lovely bridesmaids.”
“These girls had me laughing all day – especially when we all took to the dance floor for the ‘kids disco’!”
I hand over to beautiful Bride Cathryn…
Where did you meet?
“Tony and I met via a well-known dating website 4 and a half years ago and are the fifth couple amongst our group of friends to have met and married their partners after meeting online.”
“I really believe it’s the modern way to find a partner!”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged whilst holidaying in Italy in 2011.”
“We’d planned the holiday to coincide with a friend’s wedding in Tuscany and so spent 3 wonderful weeks travelling around Tuscany and Rome.”
“One night whilst staying in Montevarchi, drinking Chianti wine and overlooking the Tuscan hills, Tony popped the question!”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“Our wedding planning didn’t start straight away as I was studying and then we bought a house.”
“However, once we’d set the date we planned everything in about 12 months.”
“We wanted a relaxed day for us and our guests, and Eccleston Village Hall suited the village-fete-type theme perfectly.”
“Having a blank canvas for a venue (and a beautiful one at that!) meant that we could book all of our own suppliers and decorate the venue just how we wanted to.”
“Yes, it was harder work but it paid off massively as our day was exactly what we wanted as a couple.”
When did you get married?
“We got married on 10th May 2014.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“The wedding ceremony was our most favourite part of the day.”
“We both thought we’d be incredibly nervous during the ceremony but once we were stood at the top of the aisle together I remember feeling so calm and contented, there were no sign of any nerves and I don’t think a smile left my face!”
“A group of friends from the choir I sang with when I was growing up performed during the signing of the register.”
“My two sisters joined them (having sung in the choir also) and that, along with the rousing hymns, made the whole ceremony so special.”
“Tony’s mum and my niece Isla delivered readings during the ceremony and we’ll treasure those memories forever.”
What advice would you give other couples getting married?
“Don’t be afraid to ask for help!”
“Family & friends will be more than happy to help out and we certainly enjoyed the team effort that went into making our wedding so super!”
“My mum made our wedding cake, Tony’s mum made bunting, my Aunty helped with the flower arranging and spent months collecting jam jars”
“Tony’s brother played acoustic guitar during our drinks reception, my youngest sister designed all of our wedding stationary and my other sister and her husband made chutney for our wedding favours!”
“We also had many extra helpers to decorate the village hall on the eve of the wedding and to help clear up the hall the day after.”
“Don’t sweat the small stuff!”
“I had rare moments of panic during the run up to the wedding but I’d just tell myself “If, at the end of our day Tony and I are husband and wife, things clearly went to plan!””
“Whilst the food, drink & music certainly help everyone to celebrate your marriage, the whole purpose of the day shouldn’t be forgotten!”
Thank you so much to Cassandra for sharing this fabulous Vintage inspired Wedding Day, and such wonderful imagery.
Thank you also to Cathryn and Tony for allowing us to share their day.
So many creative touches its impossible to know where to start – love the gorgeous flowers, the wee chutney favours made by the crafty Groom, the Photo wall table plan and what can you say about that scrumptious looking naked cake..Yum!
The icing on the cake (while not being the cake) is Cathryns stunning House of Mooshki gown.
