Today I am delighted to share this pretty Ayrshire Castle Wedding with DIY and vintage aspects.
The Wedding was held at Kelburn Castle in Largs.
Images of the day were captured by Imagine Images.
Imagine Images are a team of two photographers – a partnership in photography, and in life….
They feel honoured to be part of couples special days – and love capturing those special moments that they can cherish forever.
They are based in South Lanarkshire, having moved the short distance from the south side of Glasgow covering weddings throughout Scotland.
They like to offer couples a mix of traditional elegance with a contemporary twist – capturing candid, un-posed moments whilst being friendly and unobtrusive.
Ross of Imagine Images says of the Couple and their day…
“We met Kirsten and Elliot in the September before their June wedding. We had a lovely chat over what they were looking for from their wedding photographs, and we delighted when they booked us shortly after.”
“We met with the couple again a month prior to the big day for their engagement shoot in Largs.”
“It was great to meet up again, and get to know the couple a little better as well as chatting a bit more of how they wanted their wedding day to go!”
Both Kirsten and Elliot were very relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera on the engagement shoot, and hopefully this helped on the big day itself!
“On the day everything was very calm throughout and we both had a great time capturing the day for Kirsten and Elliot. ”
“We loved the very relaxed ceremony at Kelburn Castle where we heard a lot about the couple, how they met and their journey to arrive at their wedding day.”
“The weather had also decided to be kind to us, and we thoroughly enjoyed using the grounds of what was a beautiful venue to capture images of the happy couple together, and with family and friends!”
I hand over to Groom Elliot to share the Couples story…
How did you meet?
“We met one summer at a mutual friends BBQ, Kirsten was down south from university and had come with her sister.”
“We didn’t really talk though I was suffering with a splitting headache that had plagued me for days and honestly came away from the BBQ feeling that I had been really rude so I contacted Kirsten via Facebook to apologise and we just clicked.”
When and how did you get engaged?
“We got engaged quite early in our relationship, it was Christmas and we sat under the tree and opened presents.”
“When she thought that all of hers were opened I presented a final box, her engagement ring.”
“It wasn’t the traditional proposal to be honest as I had laryngitis and felt awful so I didn’t even get down on one knee. (Her and a friend got me to do it again though once I was well again though.”
Tell me about your Planning journey.
“We both had an idea of what we wanted for the big day but I think that for the most part that we can thank Kirsten for the wonderful day we had.”
“I made some decisions of course but she was the brains behind it all.”
When was your Wedding Date?
“We got married on 26th June 2014.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“The best bit of our day for me was when I turned and saw her walking up the aisle, a big smile stretched across my face when I saw her and when she stood across from me I just couldn’t stop.”
What wedding suppliers did you use?
“For our flowers we used the Flower Room in Largs who did the most fantastic job, but other than that we used a lot of homemade items and things that we picked up here and there.”
What advice would you give to other Brides and Grooms?
“The advice that I would give would be the passing on of some advice that two friends of ours (recently married) gave us when they arrived from England to attend our big day.”
“They took us to the side and told us that the best thing we could do for ourselves on the day was to take a moment just for us, with nobody around and just enjoy each other and reflect on the day so far.”
“With all of the people who had attended it was easy to lose sight of the fact it was our day and we shouldn’t just let it zoom by as it would be over in an instant.”
“Thats the advice I would give.”
Thanks very much to Imagine for sharing their fantastic imagery and this stunning Ayrshire Castle Wedding.
Such an elegant celebration in an outstanding location with gorgeous floristry and pretty little lace touches.
