Today I am thrilled to share this elegant New York inspired Edinburgh Wedding with stunning cream, silver and gold accents at the Waldorf Astoria Caledonian Hotel.

They say of the couples day…
Edinburgh is such a beautifully vibrant and cultural city even when it rains but you really can’t say it’s a proper Scottish wedding until it does, right?
Gaynor and Jordan, of Blushbooth – the photobooth company, got engaged in New York and immediately wanted this to follow through into the theme of their wedding.
With it’s classic and stylish notes it did not disappoint in achieving this goal.
They originally did have thoughts of getting married abroad in Tuscany, however, the Waldorf Astoria was the perfect place to bring their vision together and with wishes of keeping their wedding close to home.
I hand over to beautiful Bride Gaynor to share the couples story and about their gorgeous Edinburgh Wedding….
How did you meet?
We met in City Nightclub in Edinburgh when we were teenagers, and were together 11 years by the time we got married!
Tell us about the Proposal…
We went on a trip with our both our parents to New York in 2015 and Jordan proposed at the Top of the Rock in front of our parents and also many strangers.
New York is our favourite place and we were both massive fans of the show 30 Rock so it was perfect.
We went for champagne in the Rainbow Room right after and spent the rest of the week celebrating.
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
We couldn’t decide what we wanted to do.
Part of us wanted a small intimate wedding in Italy and the other part a big, grand city wedding.
After a visit to a beautiful venue in Florence, we decided we couldn’t not have everyone there.
I’m a fan of Old Hollywood and had always loved the Waldorf Astoria, and its history, and had passed on the bus each Saturday with my Mum when I was younger saying I would love to get married there.
So you could say, it was a childhood dream come true!
Any special touches?
We had a pianist for drinks after the ceremony playing jazz music in a ode to our love for New York.
My favourite film is when Harry met sally so a lot of Harry Connick Jnr covers.
We also walked down the aisle to moon river (breakfast at Tiffany’s) another New York reference, we had a popcorn machine at night for guests and we used our bedroom mirror accessorised with some beautiful artificial flowers to create our seating plan.
We also managed to capture a little piece of Italy from our original plans with the chef at the Waldorf creating an Italian inspired menu.
We had anti-pasti boards including amazing italian meats, cheeses and breads.
We also chose a cheese wedding cake instead of traditional as we are savoury loving people and just adore cheese.
We had four different cheeses, alongside grapes, figs and Scottish oatcakes.
What was the colour palette of your Big Day?
We chose to have neutrals with cream, silvers and golds.
What was the best bit of your day?
Having all of your favourite people in the world in one room
Is there anything you would do differently?
Stress less, it always works out in the end.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Don’t sweat the small stuff and don’t spent hours of your life worrying about the weather.
What will be will be, it won’t matter on the day.
