An elegant Warwickshire Wedding at Warwick House with stunning navy blue accents

Today I am thrilled to share an elegant Warwickshire Wedding at Warwick House with stunning navy blue accents.

Liz and Paul shared their glorious summer wedding with their closest family and friends in July last year.

Images were captured by The Dignums.

The Dignums are a husband/husband team of two fun and friendly wedding photographers, based in Wolverhampton.

They shoot all over the Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and beyond.

Their work is relaxed, authentic, colourful, expressive and moment driven, and just a little bit different.

If you want two guys photographing your wedding day who feel like a couple of mates, chatting to your guests, and busting some moves on the dance floor, all the while taking amazing photos that show the awesome couple that you two are, and what an amazing wedding day you had, then there’s a strong chance they’re the right wedding photographers for you

They say of the couple and their elegant Warwickshire Wedding day…

Out of all our couples who’s wedding were affected by the pandemic and lockdowns Liz and Paul were one of the most impacted.

Having two cancel plans and postpone two dates, at extremely short notice due to lockdown announcements must have been really difficult, both practically and emotionally.

Considering how hard it must have been they both seemed to handle it extremely well, and seemed to try to take it in their stride as much as they were able.

Another element of their day they seemed to take in their stride was how warm they must have both been.

Considering their outfits were originally purchased with cooler March weather in mind, to then wear them on a summer wedding day, one of the warmest days of 2021, AND to look spectacular and not melt from the heat, that alone deserves a lot of respect and admiration.

I hand over to dashing Groom Paul…

How did you meet?

We had both been going to the same hairdresser for over 20years without ever meeting and then, when we had both found ourselves single in very similar circumstances, our paths finally crossed 10 am on 28th November 2014.

Tell us about the Proposal…

We went to Rome.

I proposed 17th March 2018 by the Trevi fountain, with Liz begging me not to go down on one knee in front of everybody.

It was made all the more romantic by the fact that Scotland’s rugby team had played Italy during the day and we arrived at the fountain with one of the Scottish supporters swimming across it!

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

Interesting and not without its delays!

We were due to get married on 21st March 2020 and Boris Johnson marched out at 5pm on the 20th and shut everything.

Our wedding was called off at 8.45 that evening at less than 24-hours-notice.

The venue were fantastic and we re-arranged for 8th November, which was cancelled owing to second lock down, 19th December, cancelled owing to being in Tier 3 and 29th May, cancelled owing to uncertainty about whether we’d get locked down again.

We finally made it over the line on 17th July 2021 at about 90% of what we originally planned.

The venue were great. You hear all sorts of horror stories about other couples having to pay twice and things like that but they (Laura) stuck with us through every disappointment.

Our wedding suppliers were all amazing, and we were so lucky to have such brilliant people to help make our day so special.

Any special touches/DIY?

My daughters were my ‘Best man” and Liz’s walked her down the aisle because her dad was unable to leave his care home.

What was the best bit of your day?

All of our elegant Warwickshire Wedding was fantastic, and we couldn’t have asked for more!

Is there anything you would do differently?

Not get cancelled so often!

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Enjoy every second of the day because it goes very, very fast
