An Ellis Bridal Gown for an Elegant Cheshire Wedding with a pink, grey and lilac palette

Today I am excited to share this exquisite and incredibly elegant Cheshire Wedding with a pink, grey and lilac palette and an Ellis Bridals Gown.

Images were captured by Sarah Horton Photography.

Sarah Horton is based in Nantwich, Cheshire and specialises in family, child and wedding photography.

She has always been obsessed with photographs, storing tonnes of childhood, school and family snaps in boxes, scrapbooks and more recently, a million and one facebook albums.

She loves the memories, they seem a lifetime ago, but they’re right there in the picture spilling out so many emotions.

Her love for photography shot to a new level when her daughter was born when she started an online album that she added pictures to every single day, documenting every moment!

She was completely fascinated and upgraded my camera a few more times, asked her friends if they’d let her shoot for them and absorbed everything she could about the craft of photography. More friends asked for pictures of their children, then a wedding, then a friend of a friend, and soon she had people she’d never met before getting in touch!

She started small with a little Facebook page thats grown into a wonderful business and a job that she truly enjoys every moment of, from pre-shoot chats over the phone to spending the most exciting and intimate moments with clients on their wedding day.

She says of the couple and their day…

“Sharn & James decided to book and plan their whole wedding with just 3 months to spare.”

“How on earth they managed to pull off this absolutely gorgeous day in such a small amount of time I’ll never know! ”

“Every detail was completely perfect – I spent most of the day just thinking WOW! The dress, and the flowers… those shoes!!”

“I was so excited to shoot at Wrenbury Hall as its where Matty & I got married in 2015.”

“It was amazing to be back for the first time since then and the updates they’ve made are just beautiful.”

“The ceremony took place at 4pm in the traditional style Oak Room with Sharn’s Dad giving her away, it was beautiful – with a few added laughs at the Best Man’s ring timing blunder.”

“The new Mr & Mrs Sandham headed outside with their guests for canapés and drinks, followed by dinner and some great speeches – picture a mix of laughter, heckling and a guest rendition of Frozen!”

“After dinner the newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance and were soon joined by their friends and family who had definitely brought their dancing feet!”

I now hand over to beautiful Bride Sharn….

How did you meet

“We have been friends since we were eighteen. I think we actually met on a night out.”

“We have always been really close and I always joke James was always in love with me. (he will kill me for saying that)”

“We did not get together till we were twenty-two after I returned from eight months in Australia.”

“I think we were both a little nervous at first as we were such good friends we did not want ruin that but now eight years later we could not be happier. I always feel so lucky I got to marry my best friend!”

The engagement

“We got engaged on the 30th June 2013.”

“We set off to Cape Verde for a fun holiday and for James’ birthday, and we were having the best time with beautiful beaches, sunshine and cocktails.”

“Half way through our holiday James wanted to walk up to some cliffs. It was quite a walk but we heard the views were fab.”

“After a long walk which was beautiful and nearly getting taken out by waves and strangely enough some cattle (which is another story) we made it and it was beautiful.”

“James suggested I sit on the edge while he took a picture, I was looking out to sea and the next thing i knew a beautiful diamond ring was placed in front of me.”

“I was completely shocked. It was perfect and a day we will never forget.”

The wedding planning journey

“In 2014 we had our baby girl Alice so our original wedding plans were put to one side and we started looking at venues again in 2016.”

“We had looked at a lot of venues but we were not really excited by any until we went to visit Wrenbury Hall and it was amazing.”

“So amazing we left and had booked our wedding which would be in just thirteen weeks on the 29th October that same year. We knew this was quite crazy but so exciting.”

“I straight away was making lists while James was straight away thinking when the stag party would be!”

“I only went to one dress shop and the dress I chose was the second one I tried and I loved it straight away.”

“I found the hard part was finding nine (yes nine!) bridesmaid dresses. We ordered quite a few from Asos before we found the right one.”

“We were so lucky to have such great suppliers and at short notice.”

“Our Florist Ruby Doodles was brilliant, when i first met Rachel she totally got what we wanted, made us feel so relaxed and our flowers were more than we could have ever imagined.”

“Finding the the right photographer was really important to us as they capture the memories. As soon as we met Sarah we both knew she would be the right person, she was lovely and we felt so comfortable with her. The pictures are out of this world.”

“Wrenbury Hall were great to us and even through my bride-zilla moments they were really helpful and definitely had everything under control.”

“After thirteen weeks with help from some amazing family and friends (and some sleepless nights) we did it.”

“We got everything we wanted it was a real fairy-tale wedding with all the little details we envisioned.”

“So many people said how did you do it in just thirteen weeks, but we are proof it can be done and we would not change a thing. the whole experience was brilliant.”

Theme colours

“I am a total Disney Fan, and luckily I have married a man who supports my Disney addiction.”

“Our theme was ‘Happily Ever After’ and we chose pretty pastel pinks, greys and lilacs.”

“We added pretty fairy lights, tea lights, petals and even a sparkly dance floor to make everything look very pretty.”

“When coming to name our tables I did not actually tell my husband until very close to the wedding as I had chosen Disney couples (for example Minnie and Mickey, Ariel and Eric)”

“I think I was a little worried I had gone a bit far with the Disney thing but when he did find out he was fine I think proving he really does love me even if I am a totally Disney obsessed!”

“Our table decorations really fit the theme with tables dressed with either a candelabra or a tall vase of pretty flowers.”

“We also added a jar of dares on each table, which i wrote on lollipop sticks as a bit of fun for the guests. I dressed the jars with butterflies to make them look pretty.”

The best bit of the day

“This is so hard to choose as we both had the best time from start to finish.”

“One highlight for us was my daughter and my cousin who were two and three walking down the aisle first leading the way.”

“Although I did not get to see this being the bride James said it was so cute and when I look at the pictures the girls are adorable.”

“The speeches were all brilliant we all laughed so much and James made me feel so very loved I remember thinking at that point wow I just married my best friend.”

“My Dads speech will also be one to remember especially the part where he walked around the room with a microphone trying to get people to sing ‘let it go’.”

“I think a big highlight for us both was that we both danced the night away and so did our guests! Everyone was up on the dance floor straight away and we really did party all night you could feel the love in the room.”

Advice for couples getting married

“Do not let yourself get stressed enjoy the process it will all come together.”

“There are so many decisions to make but make lists and write everything down its so easy to forget where you are up to.”

“Go with your heart and if things do not go exact to plan its only you guys who know this none of your guests will know any different.”

“Lastly your wedding is about the two of you so no-one should influence what you decide its your day have no regrets and enjoy every second as it goes so fast!”
