An intimate colourful Wedding with a pub reception & a House of Mooshki Dress

Today I am excited to share this gorgeous intimate colourful Wedding with a pub reception & a House of Mooshki Dress.

Sami & Mike were married at the registry office in Norwich Castle before an awesome reception at The Fur and Feather Inn.

Images were captured by Maddie Farris Photography.

I  hand over to stunning Bride Sami…

How did you meet?

“We met at high school and were friends for years before getting together at a friends 18th party (we were 15 at the time.)”

Tell us about the Engagement?

“There wasn’t any romantic gestures or breath taking moments we just decided together it’s something we wanted to do.”

“I was actually getting ready to go to the gym on a Saturday morning and Mike was laying in bed.  I think I would have waited a life time for a down on one knee proposal. ”

Tell us about your wedding planning journey

“We knew we didn’t want the planning to linger on for years, so we sorted it all within a year.”

“We also knew we wanted a small wedding, somewhere that meant something to us.”

“We have holidayed on the Norfolk Broads a couple of times over the past few years and found a pub (which also has a brewery attached to it), which we love – The Fur and Feather Inn.”

“We have some great memories there and the food and ale are fantastic.”

“The pub is not a wedding venue so we couldn’t marry there but they did agree to hold our reception.”

“We decided to get married at Norwich Registry office (which is in Norwich castle – bonus!) and then got everyone to the pub on a big red vintage bus.”

“We had our nearest and dearest there all day (24 people in total) and then around the same amount of evening guests.”

“We were overwhelmed that so many of our friends and family were prepared to make the 4 hour journey just for an evening reception.”

What was the best bit of your day?

“My favourite part of our wedding day was at the end of the evening, the band were playing their last songs and being from Manchester we had to have an Oasis track.”

“Everyone gathered round us in a big circle and did an odd version of the ’Oakie coakie’ where they all hugged us in the middle; it was the most amazing feeling.”

“Mike can’t pin point a specific bit – he just loved the Reception in general with the band, food, beers and our loved ones.”

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

“Being in the wedding industry myself I knew our wedding venue had to mean something to us.”

“Don’t feel like you have to go down the regular wedding venue route where you have this menu, those table decorations etc and everyone’s wedding is exactly the same every weekend, just with a different bridal party.”

“Try and make the day what you want, think about places that mean something to you both and work around that. It will make all the difference on the day.”
