Today I am thrilled to share the stunning Oxfordshire Wedding of Matt & Sophie at Sulgrave Manor with purple styling and rustic personal details.
Sulgrave Manor is a Tudor and Georgian manor house that was built and lived in by the direct ancestors of George Washington, the first President of the USA.
Sulgrave is set in 3 acres of land in the heart of the English countryside, and was the perfect setting for the couples Big Day.
Images were captured by Adam Watts Photography.
Adam Watts is a freelance Wedding and Portrait Photographer based in Northamptonshire/Oxfordshire.
Adam says of his work…
“I am a visual marketing photographer for a school photography company in Oxfordshire.”
“Alongside this I run my own business photographing weddings.”
“I love capturing those special moments, whether it’s a loving glance between the bride and groom or a pageboy sneakily eating some icing from the wedding cake!”
“All of these moments make a wedding unique and I’m there to capture this.”
“This is why I love photographing weddings, each one is different and you never really know what is going to happen!”
“My style of photography is very relaxed, I like to sit back and capture the day as it unfolds.”
“This allows me to create a collection of images which tell a beautiful love story.”
I hand over to Groom Matt to share his recollections of the day…
How did you meet?
“We went to school together.”
“Although as much I would like to say it was a school romance it wasn’t !”
“It was when we were reunited when we 18 that we fell for each other.”
“We saw each other in our local towns shopping centre and the rest is history !”
Tell us about the Engagement…
“We got engaged on our favourite beach in Goa, India.”
“We spent a bit of time on this beach when we went traveling together so it’s well embedded in our memories. ”
“We went back there on holiday in April 2014 where I popped the question on an empty beach.”
Tell us about your Wedding Planning experience…
“The wedding planning was all done in a bit of a rush actually, a space became available on a venue we were both very keen on so we booked it with a matter of months to plan and execute EVERYTHING!”
“Luckily we had the help of some very excited and helpful family members to help us pull it all together, and we got married on October the 3rd 2016.”
What was the best bit of your Wedding Day...
“Matt – The best bit of the day for me was seeing Sophie walk down the aisle, I knew it would be a real special moment have myself a little prep talk to hold it together while I was waiting.”
“I just about held it together ! At least until we finished our vows anyway.”
“Sophie – walking down the isle and seeing Matt – he scrubbed up well ( I didn’t tell her to say that honestly! )”
What would be your advice to other couples getting Married?
“Allow plenty of time to plan your day!”
“Also make sure you enjoy a moment together as your day will fly by. Take each other away for 5 minutes so you can really take it in.”
Thank you so much to Adam for sharing this lovely Oxfordshire Wedding.
I’m a huge fan of purple so loving the gorgeous florals, and the Bridesmaid gowns in beautiful rich tones.
Love also the homemade touches in the amazing cake and pretty stationery, and wooden rustic detail especially the wonderful carved cake base.
