They say of the couples gorgeous Hawaiian Elopement…
Madison and Michael were originally planning to have a two-year engagement and then plan a bigger wedding in the city they lived in.
But slowly, their original vision started to not feel like them.
When they started trying to plan a wedding in their city, they felt overwhelmed by the cost, all the choices that went into planning one day, and it felt more materialistic than anything and not aligned with the true meaning of what they wanted their day to be about.
After talking with one another, they decided that an intimate elopement would be an amazing compromise and they were excited that they would still be able to include their family and friends.
It was really important to them that the closest people to them were still there. They wanted to get married somewhere beautiful, out in God’s creation, and when they looked at the photos of Hawaii, they knew it would be perfect for them.
When Madison visited Maui for the first time she was pregnant with her first daughter, and it was one of the most serene and beautiful places she’s ever experienced after a particularly rough time in her life.
Hawaii has always held a special place in her heart but Michael had never been to Hawaii before their elopement.
However, after talking about it, and looking at photos, he was totally convinced and was really excited to experience the surreal beauty!
As a little secret detail she also had a piece of her grandmother’s dress sewn into her dress.
Michael wore a Calvin Klein Infinite Stretch Solid Slim Fit Suit Separates in blue, with shoes by Johnston & Murphy Melton Cap Toe in tan calfskin.
We loved seeing Madison and Michael read special letters they had written to one another before their wedding ceremony which was a beautiful beach wedding ceremony located on Kauai’s south shore.
Both Madison and Michael wrote handwritten vows and their minister performed a coconut breaking ceremony and conch shell blowing, as well as scripture readings.
Afterward, they had reception dinner at the Beach House Kauai.
Their biggest inspiration for their Hawaiian Elopement was for everything to be stress-free, to be able to focus on how special of a day it was, and to have fun and focus on the the celebration with guests that were visiting them on their wedding day.
One of the best moments of the day was seeing how intentional and how much they included their family and friends throughout this time.
The following day, we got to adventure with just Madison and Michael and allow them to let loose and simply have fun while adventuring around Kauai.
We also got to visit Waimea Canyon and then capture some in the water shots during our second day with them.
