Today I am thrilled to share this gorgeous Military Wedding with a Charlotte Balbier Gown and a palette of icy blue.
Images of the day were captured by M.P Media.
Weddings by MP (MP Media) consists of a team of multi-talented individuals, their skill-sets compliment each other perfectly, with the main photographers/videographers being Mark and Pamela.
They both specialise in Fine Art Photojournalism, and if one of them is capturing timeless images, the other is processing your stunning collection; so you can be assured that your photographs are always treated as their number one priority.
I hand over to Pam and Mark of M.P Media to tell you more about the couple and their day…
“We joined bride Alice at her parent’s house, a short drive from her wedding and reception venue, Ringwood Hall near Chesterfield.”
“Ringwood Hall Hotel is located minutes from the centre of Chesterfield, and is close to the M1, a beautiful Georgian Grade II listed Manor House at the gateway to the Peak District National Park, and only ten miles from Sheffield.”
“Both Alice and her husband-to-be Barry are in the military, and as you would expect, everything to do with their special day was planned to perfection.”
“At her parent’s house there was a welcome buffet, and make-up and hair were created in a calm atmosphere, and even a special area had been allocated to show off her dress to allow us to photograph it before she put it on.”
“We left the bridal party to take the short journey to Ringwood to join Barry and his groomsmen who were busy rehearsing their Guard of Honour outside the front of Ringwood Hall.”
“After what seemed like a few short minutes, the wedding car arrived to deliver the bride to the venue, and to Barry, who was now waiting for her at the end of the aisle in full dress uniform.”
“After a beautiful ceremony, the couple stepped outside to the front of Ringwood Hall to be met by a Guard of Honour.”
“MP took the couple for a series of informal photographs (Newlywed love session) in the extensive grounds at Ringwood Hall.”
“As the sun was setting, there was time for a few formal family photographs as well, before we adjourned to the bridal suite for some fun images with the happy couple.”
“As we were leaving the bridal suite, there was a lovely surprise: The local choir had lined the edges of the very grand main staircase and sang carols to the assembled guests.”
“The main dining room had to be seen to be believed. At the far end of the room was an enormous Christmas tree, decorated to perfection.”
“The surprises continued. As the evening guests were getting settled-in, Father Christmas paid a special visit to deliver presents to all of the children who had attended the wedding.”
“Bride Alice was even able to sit on his knee, much to Barry’s mock disgust! ”
“It was an absolute pleasure spending time in the company of Alice and Barry and sharing their special day.”
I hand over to gorgeous Bride, Alice…

“With my mother being a retired wedding dress maker my choice was highly influenced by my memories as a little girl growing up around wedding dresses and knowing exactly what I wanted from a young age.”
“I wore a gown from Designer Charlotte Balbier which was purchased from New York Brides.”
“My Bridesmaids dresses were in keeping with the winter theme the icy pastel blue with sparkly diamanté to complement the whole day.”
“The Groom and male Wedding Party were resplendent infull military ceremonial dress with dress swords which was chosen to honour the military service and traditions which I personally feel is quite a grand spectacle.”
“To accessorise his cufflinks were custom made from spent ammunition cases that the groom and honour guard had fired together on operations.”
“All our suppliers were excellent and I would recommend them all. The flowers and cake were exactly what we wanted.”
“The driver of the Rolls Royce was brilliant and had a wonderfully unique vintage style.”
“All the invitations and table cards etc… were made by us to add a personal and unique touch.”
“The flowers were provided by Classy Weddings and cake was provided by World of icing.”
“The corsage and buttonhole were all made by my mother.”
Tell us about your Wedding…
“We married at Ringwood Hall Hotel because the venue just felt right, it provided a nice setting but without the feeling of being too formal and offered good value for money.”
“The master of ceremonies was very thorough and made sure the whole day went down with no hiccups and helped put the us at ease at all times, we felt like king and queen for the day!”
“We decided on a winter/Christmas theme with a military honours on the groom side – funnily the theme was decided on a more practical sense from the groom side as the uniforms are extremely uncomfortable and hot.”
“But I really wanted the sparkles of the winter theme along with the warm feeling of Christmas.”
Any words of advice for future brides about planning your dream day?
“Don’t take on too much yourself, and take advice from your Mother!”
Tell us about your your honeymoon
“We went to Maya Riviera in Mexico to a honeymooner’s romantic resort – The El Dorado Seaside Suites.”
“The whole experience was perfect, dinners on the beach, gourmet food and the peace and tranquility of a private beach in a jungle location away from the city….Bliss.”
Thank you to the MP Media Team for sharing this elegant Military Wedding Day.
Such a beautiful wintry colour palette and love the nod to both their career and Christmas without overwhelming the theme.
The floristry is gorgeous, I love the little snowflake details and the location just stunning, all coming together to make exquisite imagery.
