Cocktail Chic – A relaxed Scottish Wedding with sophisticated edge – Images by Stuart Craig Photo

Today I have great pleasure in sharing this lovely summer Scottish Wedding Day captured by the fabulous Stuart Craig.

Stuart is a wedding photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland and covers weddings and civil partnerships throughout the country.

Stuart gives us a glimpse of Joanne and Mark’s elegant cocktail inspired Wedding Day held at the fabulous Glencorse Kirk and then Glencorse House,

“Joanne returned from the salon with her bridesmaids and greeted me in the driveway. I immediately spotted the tracksuits and thought they had been out jogging. But all was revealed when their backs were turned.”

“A quick look around suggested some impressive levels of organisation, the dresses and shoes all neatly lined up as if they were expecting a photoshoot.”

“Things rapidly changed however, the increasing noise matched only by an intense hustle and bustle as the clock ticked away.”

“The car park at Glencorse House was filling up nicely as the boys posed for a few shots at the front door.”

“Mark was keen to ask how the girls were getting on, and I wasted no time in telling him the truth. He just smiled and walked with his best man to the quaint kirk.”

“Some colourful looking outfits were taking their seats as the bridesmaids drew up in a stretched limousine. They had somehow made it bang on time!”

“Joanne was a few minutes behind, leaping out the car with a huge grin on her face.”

“Joanne walked down the aisle in her fathers arms, and the ceremony got underway with a reading.”

“The humanist service was punctuated with a few humourous stories which calmed any nerves and made for an entertaining listen. The rings were exchanged in the packed kirk before the happy couple headed over to sign the register.”

“Outside, bubble sticks and beer gave way to some congratulatory hugs before everyone was led in a procession over to the main building. It was time to jump onto a golf buggy and head to the loch.”

“A bottle of champagne was waiting for them in the sunshine, offering a rare chance to relax before smiling for the cameras.”

“Joanne and Mark graced the bridge and showed some sparkle of their own.”

“The champagne glasses were put down as things turned serious and they had a smooch in the peaceful surroundings.”

“The golf buggy whisked the newly weds back to their guests leaving me  to head into the marquee and sample the table delights.”

“The colourful nature of their decor had an exotic feel to it, each table slightly different and cleverly laid out.”

“One table  was even called Sex on the beach, surely an interesting conversation starter for those lucky guests. The cocktails provided a warm welcome for folk as they took their seats ahead of the speeches.”

“Laughter rang out of the oversized tent as each took it in turn to say a few words before the wedding breakfast. Joanne and Mark returned after the break to cut the cake in front of the gathered paparazzi.”

“Joanne tossed her bouquet over her shoulder to signal the start of the dancing. I got the feeling it was their favourite part of the day so had the camera primed to make the most of the moody light.”

“A clear dance floor was an awesome opportunity as Joanne and Mark strutted their stuff with breathtaking romance and a smattering of fun.”

“By the time the rest of the wedding party joined the floor you could feel the vibrations under your feet. The day was going to end exactly as it had begun, this time with chaos on the dancefloor!”

Thank you to Stuart for sharing these beautiful images. Love the cocktails and the associated table naming, so sophisticated but also playful. Along with the bubbles and beer a couple that wanted an elegant day but with a more relaxed stamp to it.
