Today I am thrilled to share this fabulous Church Hall Anglo Dutch Wedding captured so beautifully by Julie Anne Images.
Julie Anne Skelton is a wedding, portrait and commercial photographer based in Surrey.
She shares her recollections of an incredible day,
“Martyn and Joke’s joyful winter Anglo Dutch wedding took place around the corner at the church that Martyn had grown up in.”
“With Joke’s Dutch family travelling over to see her walk down the aisle, and the church family gathering to celebrate with home-made contributions of cakes, it was very much a family affair.”
“It was also very relaxed and a wedding much in their own style.”
“They got ready in the same house; had no best man or bridesmaids or speeches and a wedding logo designed by Martyn’s brother.”
“Joke walked into church alongside her little boy who acted as ringbearer; the couple had vows that they’d written themselves; and they had a buffet spread immediately afterwards in the church hall at the back of the building.”
“There were lots of Dutch elements from the Delft pottery blue-and-white represented also in brilliant wedding styling – royal blue, Converse, and with a fifties-style gown – as well as a Lego cake and a conga through the church led by the kids!”
“It was such a lovely informal wedding with the two families heading out for a meal together later on.”
“There was also a little time just to use the streets that are pretty much Martyn’s home turf, to take pictures of the bride and groom celebrating those first few hours of married life together.”
Thanks so much to Julie Anne for sharing this amazing Big Day.
I love the use of the dutch blue all through the styling and how cultures have been blended to bring together a wonderful celebration.

February 19, 2014Something to think about is browsing charity shops. I have seen many of the little blue and white delft ornaments when having a random look which would would be great as economical decor x
