Island of Tranquility – A Hebridean Wedding – Images by Wilson McSheffrey

Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Scottish Island Wedding with lovely military and floral touches captured by  the fabulous Wilson McSheffrey Photography.

Wilson McSheffrey Photography is a small independent and creative photographic company based in central Scotland run by professional photographers and good friends, Andrew Wilson and Emmett McSheffrey.

While covering many areas of photography including events, commercial and music,  Andrew and Emmett specialise in weddings, portrait and social photography and share a passion for beautiful, relaxed, vintage inspired images with a contemporary feel.

Last July, Andrew and Emmett were met with stunning scenery and fantastic weather on the Isle of Tiree when they arrived to shoot the Wedding of Laura and Keiran.

Tiree is the most westerly island  in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. This low-lying island, southwest of Coll, has an area of 30.2 sq miles, and a population of around 800.

The land is highly fertile, and crofting, alongside tourism, are the main sources of employment for the islanders

Laura and Kieran chose to celebrate their marriage in a traditional and elegant way that total suited the two army medics, with Laura’s beautiful lace Wedding gown and Kieran’s sharp tails being a dramatic contrast to the rugged landscape.

The subtle floral touches such as the petal cones, the country flowers tied to pews and the floral arch round the church entrance just reflected the understated elegance of the day.

The Ceremony was held at the stunning Heylipol Church in Tiree, its simplified gothic structure against a vast expanse of open country makes it striking.

Following a wonderful Ceremony, a fantastic Guard of honour greeted them leaving the church.

Laura, Kieran and their bridesmaids headed along to one of Tirees gorgeous beaches which was made for fantastic photography.

The lively reception was held at An Talla, the island community hall.

Used extensively for ceilidhs and dances, music concerts and plays as well as youth activities, public meetings and private functions, An Talla is a major part of the island social scene.

Thank you to Emmett and Andrew for sharing their outstanding images. The simple beauty of the day is expressed in each captured detail.

If you seek a Wedding location with tranquility, freedom of space and good clean air then Tiree is definetely somewhere to consider.
