When you work in Weddings for a living, theres lots of pressure to pull off something special for your own Event but the beautiful Autumnal Scottish Wedding of Heather and Andrew of Make Believe Events
is nothing short of spectacular.
They were married on Friday 26th October 2012 and the memories of their day were captured by Robert of Lush Wedding Photography

I had a wee chat to Heather about her planning and her stunning autumnal scottish wedding,
How did you meet?
Andrew and I met at Glasgow University where we were both studying and we bonded over a shared love of American Football. We started dating in November 2004.
When and how did you get engaged?
“We got engaged on the 20th February 2009 at Gleneagles. Andrew took me there by surprise and got down on one knee on a country walk whilst we were there.”
“He had also organised a second surprise of arranging for all my family to fly up and surprise me the following lunchtime and for a family get together to celebrate that day! Everyone was in on the secret except me!”
Tell me about your Planning journey.
“We were meant to get married in October 2010 but had to cancel it with a few months to go as my Gran was diagnosed with terminal cancer.”
“We rescheduled to the 26th October 2012 (which would have been her birthday).”
“We always knew we wanted to get married in autumn as we love the season and the colours were going to be our theme, but we did little on planning on the look of the day until much further down the line.”
“We organised Glenbervie and band quite early on, but we really didn’t organise everything else until maybe the last 3 months to go – we were very relaxed about planning but maybe that is because we organise 300 other weddings a year!”
“Our photographer wasn’t booked until 8 weeks before, but nothing ever seemed to be a panic.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“The best bit of the day was having all our friends and family in one space having a great time – with having to cancel and reschedule the wedding everyone had been waiting for so long for it!”
Out of the things that we organised I think the marryoke with RPL Weddings was one of the most fun activities we had, as well as the photobooth which Andrew organised as a surprise by Blushbooth.
Piper – Fiona
“We did the rest – it was nice to set up everything for our own wedding as it meant it was personal and was a chance for us to show all our friends and family what our business ” Make Believe Events
“It was nice that they were blown away by the decor and experience – I think there were high expectations for us to meet!”
What advice would you give to other Brides and Grooms ?
“Don’t stress out.”
“We had our busiest year in 2012 and with organising everyone elses weddings we never got round to organising our own until really about 6 weeks before (photographer, piper, decor, celebrant… everything!) so there is no need to stress out when everything will always come together!”
Thanks so much to Robert for sharing his incredible Photography and to Heather and Andrew for sharing their special day and creativity. The colours of Autumn are so warming and the styling is just perfect.
The late autumn afternoon light is so beautiful too and the golden tones just accentuate the flow of the rest of this gorgeous Scottish Wedding day.
