Today I am thrilled to share a lovely late Autumn Sheffield Wedding at Mosborough Hall with shades of red.
Images of the day were captured by Mark Pugh Photography.
Mark first met Jim and Vivien at a wedding event.
The couple visited Mark’s stand, asked some questions, then returned later that day to ask a few more questions, and departed.
They then returned for a third time to pay their deposit.
These were two people who knew exactly what they wanted.
For both of them, this was to be their second marriage.
Jim, an acoustic engineer met Vivien, a legal secretary whilst playing Guildwars on the Internet.
After courting for a while Jim popped the question in Nandos in Leicester and the couple were wed on 26th October 2013 at Mosborough Hall in Sheffield.
Mosborough Hall nestles in the outskirts of south Sheffield.
Something of a hidden gem, it is now open to the public as a hotel and wedding venue, perfectly blending the old and the new.
The interior of the main hall has been sympathetically restored, with stone walls still on show.
The bar is, perhaps, the main feature of the building: All of the walls and ceiling have been constructed entirely out of glass, allowing a 360 degree view around the front grounds, and the stone walls on the exterior of the hall.
It is light and airy and gives the feeling of being outdoors whilst still being in the warm and dry!
Mark says of the day, “A converted stable block was the scene for the wedding, a few seconds walk from the entrance to the hotel.”
“The self-contained building comprises a ceremony room, bar, and large dining / dance area, all of which are revealed throughout the day with the imaginative use of partitions.”
“As you will appreciate, we see a lot of Brides, and many beautiful wedding gowns in our line of work, but when Vivien took the short walk down the aisle with her son to meet Jim, we were taken aback by her stunning dress and bouquet.”
“With the ceremonial formalities out of the way, everyone adjourned to the courtyard outside for drinks and formal photographs.”
Formal ‘line up’ photographs can be extremely time-consuming to set-up, so we prefer to keep these to a minimum and concentrate on photographing guests when they do not realise they are having their photograph taken; we believe this leads to more natural, candid images.”
“As is so often the case, the rest of the day simply flew by, with their wedding breakfast, speeches, cake cut and first dance all over before we knew it.”
Thanks so much to the Team at Mark Pugh Photography for sharing this elegant Sheffield Wedding.
I love how it shows that sometimes when we think our time has passed, or things have sometimes not worked out that there is still a special person out there for us all.
