Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Intimate Wedding shot on Easter Sunday by Jamie Penfold Photography at the fabulous As You Like It.
The Setting for the day is set over three floors, featuring four stunning bars, an elegant garden terrace.
It also features Jesmonds most beautiful restuarant and Frangipani, their extraorinary chinz free function space designed by one of the countrys most talented young designers.
Jamie Penfold is an award winning Photographer based in Tyne and Wear with a reputation for creating stunning, eye catching images.
He creates images that reflect the soul, emotion and magic of the day and delivers across a range of styles.
His approach puts people at ease which allows for natural looking images that have the “wow” factor, and he has affectionately become known as the Converse behind the camera in the Wedding Industry.
Jamie shares his recollections of John and Gillians Big Day,
“At John and Gillians house, Gillian was extremely relaxed.”
“Plenty of chat and giggling with her 2 daughters who were to be Bridesmaids.”
“With a couple of touches of hair and makeup, the Champagne opened.”
“At As You Like It, John was chatting to Guests.”
“This was to be a small intimate Wedding with no more than 40 guests.”
“I sensed a few nerves with John. I asked John if he was going to turn and look at Gillian, but the response was a quick “No”.
“Downstairs the Guests started taking their seats and John Shuffled back and forth talking to the Registrar.”
“Just outside Gillian made the last few touch ups to her makeup .. Showtime!”
“This was to be a lighthearted Ceremony with a reading poking fun at John.”
“But once the vows started over Gillians shoulder, the floodgates opened with both her daughters in tears.”
“After the Ceremony everyone gongregated in the Bar upstairs and Mike Donaghue entertained everyone with card tricks.”
“With cocktails sipped and the room downstairs turned round, the Speeches started.”
“Again floodgates opened. Johns son talked about how he had always looked up to Gillians daughters as sisters.”
“And then told us that John can’t tell the difference between a stranger and his own reflection in the mirror (long story!)”
“There followed the meal and the rest of a beautiful day before the couple dashed off on a wonderful Honeymoon to Rome.”
Thank you to Jamie for sharing this gorgeous Intimate and family focused wedding. I love the red theme that flows thrughout the styling of the whole day with that subtle nod to Easter… captured beautifully in stunning imagery.
