Based near Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, Alan Snelling provides wedding photography services throughout Glasgow, Edinburgh, Central Scotland and beyond.

He shares his recollections of Beatrice and Paolos Big Day…

“The couples moving wedding Ceremony was held at St Peters’ Church Lutton Place, Edinburgh with readings, and songs sang by family and friends.”

“Following this Beatrice & Paolo hired The Red Bus Co, to take their families on a tour of Edinburgh.”

“This started with a visit to The Meadows to capture some photos.”

“From there, we headed up Arthurs Seat for some photos by Dunsapie Loch and around by Salisbury Crags.”

“At each point, their families got off the bus and sang to them in Italian (using a wee battery operated ghetto blaster!!).”

“Only Beatrice & Paolo spoke English so it was a very challenging day for us!”

“After Arthur’s Seat, we headed to the city centre via the Royal Mile and next stop was Princes St Gardens (east end), where all the guests got off the bus and walked the entire length of Princes St to get to the reception venue in the west end (Ghillie Dhu), stopping for photos/sing song on the way.”

Ghillie Dhu is a traditional Scottish pub and Wedding and Events Venue in the West End of Edinburgh. It was beautifully restored in 2010.”

“It has gorgeous high vaulted arch ceilings which are flooded with colour and draped with candle lit chandlers creating the perfect setting for a range of events.”

“The Evening Reception was a very elaborate affair, with more singing and speeches in between each course, as well as messages played on the big screen from family & friends who couldn’t make the wedding.”

Thank you so much to Alan for sharing his recollections and images of this amazing Edinburgh Wedding.

The sense of family togetherness and involvement in the couples Big Day is palpable.

I love the gentle flow of red throughout the day and reception tables named after Edinburgh landmarks., and how the celebration involves those who couldn’t be there too.
