Today I have great pleasure to share this lovely Oxfordshire Wedding with a splash of purple, butterflies, and campervan detail.
Images of the day were captured by Adam Watts Photography.
Adam Watts is a Photographer based in Northamptonshire where he lives with his wife, his children ( and their gerbils.)
He bought his first camera in 2005 (a 4 megapixel Vivatar camera) and could not put it down, it went everywhere with him.
Now, in 2014, he is a full time Senior Visual Marketing Photographer for a leading school photography company and is now venturing into the world of photographing weddings and portraits.
I spoke to the lovely Bride, Caroline who tells us the couples story…..
How did you meet?
“We first met at work (Homebase) in December 2004.”
“We got together as a couple on 24th January 2009 after I cooked Paul a roast dinner, Paul really loves his food.”
“After about a year of dating Paul moved in.”
Tell us your Engagement Story
“We decided that we would start trying for a baby as we were both not getting any younger.”
“After a while, and after losing three pregnancy’s I was getting impatient that Paul was showing no sign of proposing and I felt we both needed something lovely to work towards.”
“So as it was a leap year in 2012 and as I had already organized a family photo shoot, I decided I was going to be the one to propose.”
“Thanks to Thornton’s heart chocolate with the words ‘Will you Marry me’ on it, Paul said Yes.”
“We were looking at getting married in 2014 as shortly after proposing we had fallen pregnant again.”
“This would of given us time to get everything sorted and paid for.”
“Sadly we lost our baby in June at 16 weeks pregnant to Downs syndrome. We were both devastated and our world was crushed.”
“We decided to hold off trying for another baby until after we got married and brought the wedding forward to 19th April 2013.”
The Planning Experience
“Ten months to plan a Wedding seemed a very daunting task but by going to wedding fairs, and re searching the internet for hours paid off.”
“We had the most beautiful wedding and as we had a say in every little part of it, it made it more special.
Paul – “I had very little involvement as Caroline had it all in hand.”
Caroline – ” I loved the wedding planning experience and have since gone on to do a course with the view of entering the Wedding Business.”
What was the Best bit of your Wedding Day?
Paul’s – “I loved every single moment.”
Caroline – “All of it. Seeing everything come together was great.”
What are your Top Tips for other Brides and Grooms?
Paul’s Tip – “Hire a Toast master to organize the reception.”
Carolines Tip – “Don’t have the bar open when photo’s are being taken. It will stop guests not being available for photos.”
“Know what you want, research to get the best price, cheap does not mean best. If you have no organization skills ask someone who does to help you.”
“I learned a lot whilst planning my wedding and cant wait till my daughters get married so I can help them in achieving there dream wedding as well.”
