After my lovely holiday in leafy green Derbyshire, I am delighted to share this lovely Wedding captured in the county by Butterworth Photography. The Wedding took place at East Lodge in Derbyshire, very near to the Peak District National Park.
Butterworth Photography are Nottingham and Derby based wedding photographers Neil & Becky Butterworth.
They photograph weddings in documentary style at many of the beautiful wedding venues across Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire and also enjoy travelling with their work around the UK and internationally, with their most recent destination wedding being in Tuscany.
Their wedding photography style includes a mix of photojournalistic images, whilst also capturing some of their signature images just slightly posed to add to their couple’s wedding photography collections.
I had a chat with the team and they shared the details of the day,
When did you meet the Couple?
“Claire and Peter arranged a consultation with us after a recommendation and I popped to see them both as they were flying home back home to Australia the next day.”
“They had seen a few photographers but not clicked with any of them so I felt privileged that they had booked us there and then.”
“Leading up to the wedding day whilst Claire and Peter were in Australia we caught up via email, and then just a few days before their wedding day, once they’d returned we met at East Lodge to discuss their wedding day plans and to photograph their engagement shoot.”
“It was a great wedding day to capture and the distance between them in Australia and us in the UK was irrelevant leading up to and after their wedding day thanks to the internet. ”
“We’ve kept in touch and I’ve been able to present their images to them by uploading a video of their images which enables them to play on their large TV at home in Australia which we’d normally like to play to couples back at our studio, and then we’ve created an online slideshow for all their friends/family to see wherever they my live.”
Tell us about their Big Day
“As I arrived on the wedding day walking into reception I saw Peter all relaxed chilling in the bar area with friends and family both bride and groom was staying in the same place but different rooms.”
“Claire, family and bridesmaids were all getting ready in two of the luxury 4 poster bedrooms and with 5 bridesmaids I have to say it was quite tidy.”
“Claire and the Bridesmaid looking stunning as Claire’s mum and dad came in to see her for the first time in her wedding dress, the photographs show how hard it was hold the tears back.”
“With all in place Peter waited at the archway to the arbor and Claire walked down the red carpet aisle with very proud dad in arm.”
“As Peter and Claire stood side by side they both had to fight back the tears of emotion and feelings for each other. In Peter’s words “don’t look at each other or we’re gonna blubber”.
“The rest of the day was awesome with everyone having a great time and later in the day with the strong English and Australian connections the cricket bats came out but it quickly became battle of the sexes boys vs girls.”
“Who knows who really won the match with the dodgy rules and scoring which was going on, but I think it’s fair to say Claire and Peter were the real winners, fabulous couple, friends and family.”
Thanks to the team for sharing this beautiful day. So relaxed as is the Aussie way and the peace that the Derbyshire countryside brings…lovely images.
