Teacakes and Irn Bru – A Relaxed, Retro Scottish Big Day – Images by Mack Photography

Today I have incredible pleasure sharing this relaxed, retro inspired Wedding captured so beautifully by Lindsey Parker of Mack Photography.

Lindsey is a Glasgow based Photographer but covers Scotland and The U.K.

Lindsey says “Having graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2005 (seems so long ago!) I have been qualified as an Architect for the past three years. I have always had a love of photography and was lucky enough to nurture my creativity and hone my technical skills throughout my studies.”

“Since leaving college I have been continually expanding my photography portfolio.”
“What started out as a favour at a friend’s wedding has now developed into this blog and my business.Whether it’s planning ahead with black & white film or capturing the moment in digital I rarely go anywhere without something to record those moments in life where you wish you had a camera but never do.”

“I love the retro vibe you get with an instant camera. I am forever photographing buildings (some I’ve even helped design!) and the urban environment as well as all the weird and wonderful people who bring it to life.
As well as buildings I  LOVE photographing people.”

“Every party/ gathering of friends/ couples shoot or wedding is so unique and so personal and I get a real buzz from sharing in the happy events with people.I always endeavour to put as much of my creativity and enthusiasm into a shoot to capture each couple’s personality. I like the day to be yours and I am there to record what happens for you.”

Lindsey also shares her recollections of the couples Big Day, “I got an email from Alison about her and John’s wedding mid September for their wedding on the 28th September!”

“This lovely couple spent only two weeks planning their wedding, and they still had a lovely laid back and romantic day. They got married at Park Circus registry office in Glasgow with their families, followed by a big party with friends joining them in St Vincent Street Bowling Club.”

“This was a real Scottish affair with kilts, dancing, Irn Bru and Tunnocks tea cakes!”

“Alison’s ‘old’ was her engagement ring which originally belonged to her Mum’s Aunt and had been passed down through her family.  Her ‘new’ was her fab grey suede shoes! Her ‘borrowed’ was her wedding dress from one of her friends, and her ‘blue’ was her toenails, which were painted by her sister!”

“The table decoration also came from her Aunt’s house. They had vintage table cloths on each table with cut flowers and tea lights in jam jars.”

“Alison and John did their first dance to ‘I feel love’ by Donna Summer, which was brilliant!”

I simply adore the utter simplicity yet could have been planned foreverness of this Wedding.

The day was about fun, about being themselves, about being there and just celebrating.

Where there is love sometimes you just have to seize the moment.

Thanks so much to Lindsey for sharing her fabulous images.

I amm totally loving the mini wedding dress. She looks stunning and the vetro vibe really works with the tartan. Just gorgeous!
