Today I am very excited to kick off the week with an incredible Tipi Wedding with a Madeline Gardner Dress & a Car Engine Theme.
Images of this colourful and creative day werre captured by Luke Holroyd Photography.
Luke Holroyd has always loved photography, and when he was a child he would run around with an old film camera and snap away.
Now as a professional photographer, he prides myself on being able to foster genuine relationships with all the lovely people his camera captures.
He says…”There is nothing more rewarding in this job than seeing the Brides smile the first time she sees her wedding images.”
“I can honestly say that nearly every wedding I capture I gain genuine friendships with the Bride & Groom!”
“I’m 23 years of age, and I have been shooting weddings since I was 18.”
“I now live back in my hometown of Morley in Leeds and work from our home office.”
“I love capturing weddings, I’ve juggled part time jobs along with assisting other wedding photographers to get to where I am now and I honestly wouldn’t change a thing!”
“Behind every good photographer there is also a very patient other half! I live with my beautiful girlfriend Joanne, who may not be any good at holding a camera but she’s a brilliant person full of lots of creative ideas.”
He says of the couple and their Big Day…
“Kate & Ben’s wedding for me was the highlight of 2014, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better setting, bride & groom and weather to photograph a wedding!”
“Like most people looking to book a wedding photographer they usually ask for recommendations, and Kate & Ben couldn’t have had a more reliable recommendation through Ben’s sister Amy.”
“I actually studied photography with Amy at Derby University so she knew me & my portfolio probably better than anyone!”
“Kate & Ben are an awesome couple, and I first got to meet them in Kate’s hometown Darlington for their pre-wedding shoot.”
“Well, what a contrast the weather was compared to the wedding date.”
“I’ve never seen rain or at least photographed in rain like it, we could have easily agreed to cancel and just have a chat, but Kate & Ben were ready to embrace the lovely British Weather.”
“We all being covered head to toe in mud.”
“Their wedding day.. it was fantastic!”
“Held in Darlington, surrounded by awesome family & friends it was truly a pleasure to capture.”
“The ceremony and reception were all held at the same venue, in which Kate & Ben had transformed the church’s field into one of the best wedding venues I’ve seen to date.”
“Who could ask for better backdrops than TeePee’s, Muddy Land Rovers, fantastic colours and Car Engines for table decorations!”
A few words from the couple…
Our Advice: “To make your planning experience one to remember make sure that it is a team effort.”
“The day is a celebration of you spending the rest of your lives together.”
“Ben has a love of cars and mud and I have a love of bright colours, everything being clean and pretty.”
“It was amazing how we collectively organised such an amazing day.”
Would we do anything different: “If I was able to do it all again, I would have been a little more understanding regarding the politics that surround a wedding, with who should sit where and who should come.”
“Sometimes you need to take a step back and realise that people can be a little crazy and you may feel stressed and worried but those feelings are felt by everyone involved.”
Thank you so much to Luke for sharing this utterly fabulous Tipi Wedding.
I don’t think I ever imagined a Wedding centred round something like car engines could look so elegant but incredibly fun too.
Mix that up with stunning bursts of colour and you have genius styling.
There is just so much to love from car part wedding centrepieces to wheelnut place settings, to reception flowers in tyres and the showpiece car door table plan which is just spectacular.
