Ice Styling is the sister site of Global Ice Sculptures who create fantastic ice sculptures, ice bars, and vodka luges for every event.

Ice Styling now focus on all things table centre, in ice of course!

A few years ago they noticed a very definite trend, in request for wedding table centrepieces.

Claire says “It was all very similar, flowers, candelabras, flowers with candelabras or fishbowls, not that I’m knocking them, please don’t think that, but, well, being the creative souls we are, we thought we’d try something different.”

“Having been in the ice business for nearly two decades, we feel it almost runs through our veins.”

“With this at the front of our minds, we have developed a new and exciting concept – Table Centrepieces & Venue Decor made entirely from ice.”

“Always pushing the boundaries of design, we wanted to offer something different and out of the ordinary….. The Ice Styling concept was born.”

And this past October Clair and Glen got married, and she shares their story,

How did you meet?

“We actually met through work about 8 years ago, I was employed as a part time office assistant, and it kind of went from there!”

When did you get engaged?

“We didn’t make a big thing of it, it just kind of happened one night when we were out to dinner, we were chatting about work and what we had coming up soon and mentioned the brides we were working with at the time, and it kind of slipped out!”

Tell us about your wedding planning journey

“We decided straight away I would be way too impatient to plan for a year or longer.”

“Being in the wedding and events industry, we knew we had a small time frame so chose October, so the whole wedding was done and booked within 11 weeks of the proposal! (I kid you not!)”

When did you get married?

“Having 4 children between us, we obviously wanted them involved, and knowing how expensive weddings can be, we decided on a weekday to help keep the costs down, so chose the October half term, Tuesday 29th.”

What was the best bit of your day?

“The anticipation to be honest, I loved making all the arrangements and we are lucky enough to know a lot of lovely people in the wedding industry, so it was easy to ask for advice and share tips and ideas.”

“I tried to keep “us” running through the day, making all our invitations and favours and helping to decorate our venue.”

“We went for a bit of a rainbow theme as we like to be a bit different, and obviously because of what we do, we had some amazing ice sculptures on the day!”

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

” My best advice is Relax!”

“It’s so easy to get stressed about the small things, but I can 100% guarantee that when it’s your big day and you’re in your in your amazing dress looking like a princess, these small things won’t even register.”

“Take help if it’s offered, friends and family were invaluable to our planning, and enjoy your day, it goes so so quickly. ”

Clair and Glen would love to share a few images of their Wedding which also gives a great insight into the work they do…
