Today I am thrilled to share the beautiful 2014 Collection from LHG Designs, inspired by the Goddesses of Roman Times.
LHG Designs are a Designer and creator of multi award winning Scottish Bridal hair accessories and jewellery.
At LHG Designs they take pride in creating fashion led accessories and offer a collection of handcrafted wedding / bridal headbands, bridal tiaras, bridal combs, vintage bridal / wedding headbands, prom tiaras and wedding jewellery to customers across the UK and worldwide.
They also cater for bridesmaids, mother of the bride/groom and special occasion hair accessories that are on trend in 2013.
Their accessories are handmade to order and available to buy online, at owner Louise Grahams home studio in Renfrewshire (just outside Glasgow) Scotland.
“Goddess” – A female deity. A woman who is adored.
Louise says “The names for the 2014 collection came about purely by chance.
My son was learning about the Roman’s at school and about their God’s and Goddesses.
So after listening to his keen interest in this, I asked him what should I call my 2014 collection. “Goddess” he said, and “name each piece after a Goddess”.
“So there it was – the collection had names! Now to design it.
I always look to designs that have been popular from the previous collection and look at international dress designers trends for 2014.”
“With that in mind, it was decided that the themes were definitely Art Nouveau and Art Deco inspired.
People often get these two art movements confused as they follow closely after each other.
Art Nouveau started in 1880 and was inspired by natural forms and structures, not only in flowers and plants but also in curved lines.”
“So the 2014 collection has taken the leaf and swirl patterns often found in Art Nouveau images and been transferred into bridal hair accessories.
Beautiful rhinestone leaves embellish most of the designs, with twisted tendrils of pearls and seed beads creating the elegant flowing lines.
It is also represented in many of the Goddesses images, where they often wore flowing Art Nouveau like hair accessories or structured Art Deco like circlets.”
“Recently Tandem Photo and a multitude of other exceptional Scottish Wedding Suppliers were involved in a shoot to capture my new pieces – some are named, some are yet to be.”
