Today I am excited to share this stunning colourful same sex festival theme wedding shoot with a boho vibe at The Missing Sock.
Images were captured by John Woodward Photography with creative direction by Suzy Randell of Flowers by Suzanne.
Suzy says of this incredible colourful festival theme wedding shoot…
We had come across The Missing Sock venue in Cambridgeshire a few years ago, and were struck by how unique, colourful and quirky it was.
There were so many unique features, from a Karaoke bus to quirky seats in a pond to painted murals.
Everything about festival weddings is over the top colour-wise and bright, so, from the outset The Missing Sock was the perfect backdrop.
We wanted to make the bouquets big, bright, oversized and extravagant, with tons of mixed colourful ribbon handles.
The flower crowns worked great with the bouquets, and if it’s festival-themed, there has to be some crown-wearing!
Wild flowers were definitely ideal for this shoot, and this tends to be a natural choice by couples, particularly for this venue, as well as those looking for a festival vibe wedding.
The quirky craspedia (yellow balls), daisies and the weird looking drooping burgundy amaranthus (known as ‘love lies bleeding’) – were ideal choices within the mixed bouquets.
Props from Fleur de Lace and Samsa Mays were themed with ribbon bunting, pink Flamingos, painted welcome signs, bright mixed coloured jam jars with woolly ball trimming, festival flags, flower crowns, playful stationary (cut out place names) and more, we felt the brighter the better!
The bridal gowns had a boho vibe, and we loved the choice of dresses we were supplied with long skirts, and some bright blues, but lots of floaty sleeves with cowboy boots and converse trainers.
The wedding make-up and hair was created by the fabulous ‘Two Kate’s’.
‘Flash Kate’ went for wild and wonderful make up with glitter on the face and hair with another look to match the blue outfit included silk petals on the models face (Georgina).
Kate Atalay styled the models locks superbly with wild crimped big hair to amazing plaits with colourful ribbons flowing to a large fringe quiff.
We decided against a traditional wedding cake cutting which didn’t seem to fit the theme so we hired a fabulous doughnut wall
