Today I am excited to share this dramatic and surreal Twin Peaks Wedding Styled shoot with vibrant jewel colour and woodsy styling.
Twin Peaks was an 90’s American crime drama mixed with healthy doses of the surreal.
It featured FBI Agent Dale Cooper, who travelled to the small logging town of Twin Peaks to solve the murder of seemingly innocent high schooler Laura Palmer.
Almost nothing is as it seems, however, and the show’s sometimes eerie visuals, oddball characters and wild dream sequences drive the point home.
This shoot capitalises on the oddity and surrealism of the show with a huge dose of love and passion mixed in.
Images were captured by Becky Ryan Photography.
Becky says of the shoot…
We started off at the Kelso bar and private hire venue in Loughborough for some post ceremony coffee, donuts, and delicious Twin Peaks themed cocktails!
We chose the Kelso for its woodsy tones, which felt very Twin Peaksesque, and the amazing eclectic decor.
It also has some gorgeous cabin-esque diner style booths, perfect for some of their exceptionally fine coffee!
She did her own make up with some classic black eyeliner and a red lip and Sarah of Pin Up Curl Derby completed the look with some Audrey inspired curls.
Our model usually wears her hair completely straight with a short blunt fringe in real life but our stylist Sarah’s work shows how brides can wear their hair styled completely differently on their wedding day.
Between our two venues some nearby woodland made a perfect atmospheric spot for capturing some wedding portraits amongst the pines.
Our bride has changed into her beautiful second dress, a floor length green velvet gown, ready for the wedding reception.
Sadies hair flower and beautiful dress corsage by Pin Up Curl perfectly co-ordinated her breathtaking look alongside gorgeous flowers from Blooming Wild Flowers.
Julia wowed us with her red velvet curtain and chevron floored backdrop, absolutely perfect for any Twin Peaks themed wedding reception.
The fantastic wedding cake was created by Helen Alborn Cakes who also created a very yummy cherry pie.
The black lodge is represented through the red and black base and the chevrons of the middle tier.
Helen used a polished woodgrain effect for her top tier as seen in the Great Northern.
She finished off her creative design with edible handmade blue roses from the secret blue rose project.
All the beautiful stationery in our shoot, from menus to invitations, was created by Nicky at With Love Wedding Stationery.
Nicky showed how to bring Twin Peaks inspiration through a wide range of stationery where as well as an invitation, she created chevron coasters which are a must for your Twin Peaks themed cocktails.
Additionally there were signs with iconic quotes from the series and she even created a Twin Peaks inspired food menu from quotes from the series.
The brilliant Pearls and Swine also provided us with two stunning headpieces for our bride’s evening look, featuring flower crown and veil headband creation and an amazing statement mask piece with roses.
Any Twin Peaks themed wedding wouldn’t be complete without a Twin Peaks themed photo booth back drop with ours being put together by our stylist Curious Magpie.
