Today I am excited to share this fun retro Kitsch Wedding styled shoot with pretty pastel pink, and mint details at The Pumping House, Ollerton.
Images were captured by Becky Ryan Photography.
Becky says of the shoot…
Taking some inspiration from what was my upcoming holiday at the time, I wanted to do something around a Palm Springs-esque colour palette of retro pastel pinks and mint.
I also felt really inspired from capturing the photography of some wonderfully colourful real life brides.
These days ladies no longer feel as obligated to stick to traditional white and ivory if that’s not who they are, and it’s fabulous to see some quirkiness being embraced in weddings.
Our setting was The Pumping House in Ollerton.
Situated on the edge of Sherwood Forest, The Pumping House was originally called Boughton Pumping Station, and opened in 1905.
Boughton Pumping Station later passed into the hands of Severn Trent Water and was later listed as Grade II in 1974.
Since that time the pump house has had various uses, and has now been refurbished to a stunning standard, to bring a new wedding and events venue to the Nottingham area, with acres of charm, character, and outdoor space
A large part of bringing the vision I had for our Kitsch Wedding shoot to reality was done with the help of Julia from Curious Magpie who really brought the retro kitsch to the shoot with their wonderful styling and great array of props.
Our models quirky and colourful dresses were created from scratch (featuring some sequin applique loveliness) from local dress makers Bella Figura with lovely hair accessories from Pin Up Curl who also created glam hairstyles.
Cute as candy makeup was applied by The Vintage Beauty Parlour with quirky accessories such as the garter by Extra Special Touch, jewellery y Splendette and a flower fascinator, pink floral headband and ice cream clutch by GG’s Pin-up Couture.
Big bright, bold statement florals were designed by BloomingWild Flowers, with retro vessels filled with blooms, and old school cool furniture too.
Additionally there is a scrumptious looking butter cream cake from the kitchen of The Sweet Stuff with pretty edible flowers by The Flower Deli, a fun streamer photo booth and gorgeous floral stationery from With Love Wedding Stationery.
The whole team were wonderful and really helped everything come together!
