A Glitzy Peacock and Art Deco inspired Wedding shoot

Today I am excited to share this glitzy Peacock and Art Deco inspired Wedding shoot that perfectly channels the roaring 1920s.

Combining the luxury, glamour, exuberance and glitz of the time with a twist of emeralds, sapphire blues and a sprinkling of peacock feathers helped create a glamorous art deco inspired shoot.

Gatsby and Downton Abbey vibes abound with a creative twist in this collaborative shoot captured by Anna Beth Photography with creative direction by Onyx Weddings & Events.

Sarah of  Onyx Weddings & Events say of the shoot…

My inspiration for this shoot came from the idea of the 1920’s / 1930’s and art deco era being so glamorous and opulent.

I didn’t want the shoot to be a typical Gatsby style shoot of blacks and golds so I incorporated flushes of peacock feathers into the colour palette which would bring a fabulous pop of colour to the shoot.

The setting was the Crowne Plaza Hotel built within the original grade II listed art deco Liverpool airport terminal which is scattered with art deco features from bold geometric forms on the doors and floors to the vintage aircraft.

There is also a stunning clock tower and terraces overlooking vintage aircraft, and the reception area has the most amazing art deco styled counter which created an amazing backdrop.

For our tablescape I wanted it to radiate glitz so went for a minimal colour palette of blacks and golds.

The black plates looked striking against the gold chargers and framed with the gold cutlery, with adornment of golden palm trees and black ostrich feathers it was simple yet would not look out of place at a Great Gatsby party or even Downton Abbey!

The ceremony décor had pops of bright sapphire blues and emerald greens from the peacock feathers placed in the black chair sashes and decorated with a glitzy brooch with the aisle lined with candles.

The beautiful gowns gave our bride a glamorous romantic feel, the v-necks and long sleeves of both gowns are draped with a stunning faux fur stole, with the groom looking dapper in his plain black dinner suit,

The peacock theme was used to develop the brooch bouquet, buttonhole and stationery.

The cake was glitzy with its sapphire brooches and plumes which looked striking against the blacks of the cake, this sat perfectly on the art deco inspired cake stand.

To add some more opulence to the shoot we had a stunning sapphire diamond ring which matched the bouquet.

Our bride’s hair was swept back into a low curled bun and to the side, leaving the other side for our stunning handmade hair accessory, which was made specifically for our shoot.

The makeup was typical 1920’s with super strong smoky eyes, dark eyebrows and deep red lips.

This look would be perfect for brides looking for a classic, glamorous, vintage look.
