A Maximalist and Vibrantly Colourful Wedding editorial inspired by interior icon Tony Duquette’s Dawnridge House

Today I am thrilled to share a maximalist and vibrantly colourful wedding editorial inspired by interior icon Tony Duquette’s Dawnridge House.

Images were captured by Timeless Photography with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.

Anthony Duquette was an American artist who specialized in designs for stage and film.

Tony and his wife Elizabeth Duquette built their home “Dawnridge” in 1949.

After his death in 1999, Hutton and Ruth Wilkinson purchased the house to save it.

Most of the Duquette’s collections of 17th, 18th, and 19th century antiques and works of art were sold after their deaths, but Hutton Wilkinson re-decorated the house using mostly furniture, sculpture and works of art created by the Duquettes, and this was the basis of inspiration for the shoot.

This wedding editorial strays far from anything traditional, and throws the wedding rule book out the window opting for styling with bold, vivid tones.

Shot in the capital of Qatar, Doha, this setting was done by Plush events and it just screamed opulence through the use of intricate and colourful wallpapers.

The grand furnishings added an extra ‘oomph’ incorporating unique shapes, rich textures and bright decoration.

By creating a whimsical feeling of opulence in every detail, this rich and vivid world of luxury sets up a different tone to couples wanting a wedding that will scream eccentric.

Even the table décor had its own life of colour. Gold trimmed plates intensified the luxurious feeling alongside the patterned glassware.

A vision where pattern on pattern on pattern thrives, it would scare off those less atune to risk but those willing to push the boat out will be excited when they see the finished result.
