A modern minimalist castle wedding in Portugal with beautiful magenta & forest green detail

Today I am thrilled to share a modern minimalist castle wedding in Portugal with beautiful magenta & forest green detail.

Images were captured by Wit Photography with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.

Renate of Wit Photography says of the shoot…

We envisioned a wedding day full of charm and magic in the mysterious and bucolic region of Sintra, Portugal.

Mrs. Lake Weddings planned a modern castle wedding with bold colors.

A stylish mix between the old and the new; an homage to the romances and mystical tales of the past whilst looking forward to a bright future for the newlyweds.

My focus was to capture the wedding day elegantly in bright beautiful pictures, and Jippey created a compelling storytelling video alongside this..

The wedding venue Casa dos Penedos (part of The Ritz Penha Longa Resort), literally translated ‘house built on a rock’ is a beautiful pink palatial mansion in the hills of Sintra, designed by renowned architect Raul Lino.

The 20th-century mansion contains multiple stunning rooms, amazing outdoor spaces with detailed hand-painted wallpapers, authentic tile design, and stunning painted ceilings that tell a story.

The rooms are authentic but surprisingly light and airy for a 20th-century mansion.

We wanted to create a fusion between the old and the new without taking away from the historical beauty of the venue, and combine the traditional ceilings, mirrors, windowsills, and fireplace, with a minimalistic and modern tablescape.

To keep a clean and modern look, we chose magenta & forest green as the main colours and complimented these bold colors with soft hues.

One of the most meaningful details in this wedding is the hand-crafted velvet stationery box, with gold pressed monogram and transparent hand-painted wedding invite designed by Ivory and Fine.

On the inside of the box is a drawn image of Palazzo Monserrate, one of Sintra’s most iconic places.

Also, we’ve added personalized cocktail coins engraved with the wedding theme and a popping magenta table sign by Lila Harp. Another stunning detail is the greenery bouquet used for the golden hour shoot.

Our favorite moment was the golden hour sunset shoot at the golf course of the Penha Longa Resort just before dinner.

A moment to be alone together as a couple.

Also, the couple chose to share their vows in their heart language Italian, a beautiful and romantic moment.

Wedding stylist and florist Marshmallow and Magnolia used the floral arrangements to bring the old vs. new look to life.

Using the fireplace as a centerpiece with a stunning flowing backdrop with pink marbled tulips from VIP roses and roses from the Parfum Flower Company.

The ikebanas with the marbled tulips give the tablescape a modern clean look.

The little stems of Portuguese greenery next to the napkin and place cards give the whole an authentic touch.

Bride Nuncia opted for a glowing make-up look with a bold lip, she kept her natural hair down in a look created by Marion Bruidshaar en make-up.

She sparkled in two stunning dresses: A fit and flare dress with a lace bodice, a low cut back and full tulle skirt by Elysée, and an A-line dress with a ruched bodice and strass spaghetti straps, an embroidered skirt, and train by Casablanca.

She was complimented by her Groom in a suit by Michael & Giso.

Both dresses are via ANKii The Bridal Concepts Company with shoes via Rachel Simpson and hairpiece again by Poirier via ANKii The Bridal Concepts Company.

The cake was inspired by nature and taste and was created by ZZ Sweet Story.

What is better than combining both in an elegant wedding cake with cream botanic accents and fresh local flowers? The taste inside was as delicate as the design.

Vanilla Victorian biscuit cake with a hint of Portuguese citrus, citrus curd, raspberry coulis, and light mascarpone creme are both delicious and refreshing for summer weddings.

If you are contemplating a destination wedding, don’t doubt it and just go!

Being together with the people that matter most in a beautiful surrounding is priceless.
