A spectacular Game of Thrones inspired wedding shoot in Ireland with rich jewel tones

Today I am excited to share a spectacular Game of Thrones inspired wedding shoot in Ireland with rich jewel tones.

Images were captured by Olga Hogan Photography with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.

Olga says of the shoot…

Game of Thrones took over the world, and for a great reason.

The story and the visuals are truly inspiring, and styling a wedding after the world of Westeros will be popular for a long time.

It was really exciting to come up with a  Game of Thrones inspired wedding shoot where we could use the inspiration from the show yet still apply it to the modern world of weddings.

Loughcrew House is a gorgeous historic venue in Co. Meath, Ireland. Meath is a former seat to the kings of Ireland, so it felt like a fitting place.

Just a few miles of Loughcrew House are the ruins of St Oliver Plunkett church, named after the last saint of Ireland.

The place is a popular spot for wedding ceremonies and festivals, and we felt the old stones and century-old trees around really created the Game of Thrones setting.

We also used some backdrops from another historic Meath town, Trim and its famous castle.

We went with a palette of warm colours such as deep red, burnt orange and saffron yellow.

To give a bold insight into the styling of the day we had bespoke stationery from Appleberry  Atelier in hues of burgundy and deep greens

The groom Nathan’s wool outfit in black and grey was borrowed from Tango’s Dress Hire. The bride Megan’s look was created by amazing Asta Make Up Artist and Upstylefunk Hair.

We went with an iconic Sansa Stark look for the first dress and softer, hair-down braided look for the other, styles that will easily transcend to real weddings.

Both dresses were borrowed from Dirty Fabulous and are authentic vintage. The long sleeves and high collars look like the perfect fit for a bride who wants to bring some medieval inspiration into her day but isn’t ready to commit to a period wedding dress.

Aster Flowers & Events created stunning groom’s buttonholes and bridal bouquets, as well as amazing table arrangement.

For the tablescape the arrangement was complimented by old-fashioned tableware and fruit to create a feast with design and decor by Real Dream Ireland.

Of course no wedding shoot would be complete without a cake with the team swooning over the gorgeous beauty by Miller Cake Studio.

It has different tiers to match different stories from the show and topped with a sword!
