Today I am thrilled to share this theatrical and glamorous Country Bride inspired styled shoot at Goldsborough Hall.
Images were captured by Photography by Kathryn.
Kathryn says of the shoot…
My concept for the shoot had Yorkshire at the very heart of it, together with Yorkshire creatives, all set in a stunning stately home, where else but in Yorkshire!
Before becoming a professional photographer, my career was in marketing within theatre and the arts, so I think this has also perhaps influenced the style of this photo shoot – with a theatrical, glamorous and stylish feel to the finished images.
The character of my bride in this shoot was always an independent soul, and a creative one – she writes in her diary and contemplates the big step that she’s about to take in getting married…..hence the shoot’s working title “The Diary of a Country Bride”
Storytelling is a key feature in my wedding photography, so I wanted this shoot to communicate a story, very much how I would approach photographing a wedding day.
I wanted to inspire brides to be to perhaps do things a little differently – be creative themselves – I guess appealing to the “bespoke bride.”
With a hand-picked team of creative wedding professionals, we worked as a team to create the look and we couldn’t have asked for a better location than Goldsborough Hall as the backdrop.
This superbly private and very exclusive venue was one time residence of HRH Princess Mary, the Queen’s Aunt.
Its beautiful landscaped gardens and elegant interiors make it such a perfect location for an extra special wedding day and it befitted this shoot perfectly.
I wanted to work with a team of people who would embrace the vision I had, and then add their own individual creativity to it
Everyone in the team creates bespoke, crafted and homegrown wedding day elements – from bespoke couture wedding dress creations and “work of art” millinery to beautiful calligraphy and British flowers grown locally in the Yorkshire Dales.
And these are just the elements I wanted to capture, giving brides to be those unique style ideas as well as introducing them to professionals who really can create a bespoke and creative wedding day.
With quotes from Charlotte Bronte and carefully crafted styling, it’s an authentic shoot with a story, a style and a very country bride.
