Today I am thrilled to share an atmospheric Autumnal & Halloween inspired wedding shoot channelling Midnight Romance.
Liz says of the shoot…
For our Halloween inspired wedding shoot we decided the main colour would be burgundy and the warm tones followed from that, the browns of the suit, the complementary colours of the flowers then to add a pop our Bride had amazing blue and green hair.
The sparkly slinky dress showed off her amazing figure and everything was falling into place.
We pulled together a fantastic team of suppliers for this shoot who all went above and beyond in each of their areas of expertise, we wanted to create a Autumn halloween inspired shoot and get creative as possible.
The models (a real couple) were amazing, Hair & Make-up was perfect, the Flowers/Cake/Stationery/decor were stunning and a beautiful moon & stars were created.
We also had a lovely special guest who made the shoot that little bit special for everyone when Daisy the beautiful Skunk popped by for a few shots which was a highlight of the day.
I stumbled across a clearing in the woods while there during the summer.
We loved the space, the light, the texture of the ferns and the fallen trees, and knew the area would be perfect for a unique wedding ceremony, all that was missing was a Bride a Groom and some amazing decor.
And as good as the area looked in the summer the clearing would come alive in the Autumn.
Thinking about these warm tones gave me the idea of styling it with a Halloween and slightly gothic feel. They both really fit with being out in nature.
Shades of White absolutely loved being involved in this Halloween inspired wedding shoot and for the chance to work with so many wonderfully talented suppliers, and show off their beautiful dresses.
The Brides headdress came from Victoria Louise which focuses on modern, unconventional & fashion forward brides just like our model.
Bespoke shoes were created by Inanna Bespoke Shoes who was inspired by the brief to be classic with an edge.
For the main element she used a rose design to complement the amazing midnight romance theme and beautiful bouquet.
Also using a subtle pocket watch on the shoes to tie in with the grooms suit detail and a skull on the jacket as a nod to the theme.
Paige Richards Freelance Make Up Artist created a beauty look that was enchanting & set a statement, transporting the mind to the wonders and romantic vibes of a night sky.
Using the richness of the dark blues and purples with the hints of sparkle from the stars, the colours were incorporated into the makeup creating a lustful elegant eye with an edge.
Paired with a dark lip it brought the whole look together, especially with the Brides blue hair.
Charlie Darlow Hairdressing & Bridal utilised the brides bright hair colour, length and condition to make it quite fluffy.
Adding tight curls would have taken away the length so instead adding a wave and fluffing the hair out really ensured the hair was quite natural yet more textured then natural or blow dried hair.
A thick heavy fringe really added another dimension to the style meant the sides needed to be taken away from the face so we could show off the makeup and the beautiful headpiece.
The Vintage Suit Hire Company provided a worsted wool jacket and waistcoat in an earthy autumnal brown.
Tweed is a great look as the weather turns a little cooler and it was styled with the golden mustard accessories, so on trend and perfect for a Halloween inspired wedding, whilst complementing the suit
Letters Aglow provided us with their stunning black with gold leaf star moon seat, copper backdrop and hand carved Til death to us part sign.
We thought the seat worked perfectly with the Halloween Autumnal theme, and the hand carved oak sign brought a classy but dark element to shoot.
Graceful Lace Stationery incorporated the style of the shoot into the stationery suite using bold colours of autumn like the rich berry.
They used vellum & acrylic along with foiled & UV printing techniques to create a really luxurious feel to the stationery.
Their acrylic place settings were used to blend with the table decoration & styling perfectly in colour, using a hexagonal shape & non traditional invite styles bringing them to life and fitting in with the gothic theme looking to achieve.
The shoot was great fun for Keepsakes of Yaxley to flower up with her inspiration coming from the surrounding woodland and romantic gothic theme.
She combined locally grown dahlias and amaranthus, seasonal grasses, berries and ferns, rich red and gold roses adding the romantic touch, and complimenting the beautiful woodland setting.
For the bouquet Wild Frost Cafe used blooms with rich warm tones with the main colour being burgundy. The gentle tones of peach roses lifted the colour and the silvery green tones of the eucalyptus gave the bouquet a wilder feel.
Hall and Co Event Design provided the beautiful cushions which added the perfect colour pop to the shoot, and also the Persian rugs and the table which just set off all the autumn & Halloween details just perfectly.
The amazing cake by Heather Keen matched the burgundy colour pop, it had a beautiful flower with additional golden and marbling details.
Smaller cakes also had berries to sit perfectly into the setting.
Samantha L Jackson provided the beautiful skull and bones details for the shoot, which really added to the shots giving it that Halloween touch.
