Today I am excited to share this incredible styled shoot set in my home town of Glasgow where eco and sustainable wedding inspiration meets industrial luxe.
Images were captured by Martin Venherm Photography with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.
Edwina of Rosewood Cakes says of the shoot….
Susan of Narcissus Wedding Flowers by Susan and I are wedding besties and we have been working on shoots together for years.
They can be really hard work, and we’ve often said no more but as soon as we see the end results of everyone’s hard work and creativity we can’t resist coming up with new ideas!
We really feel strongly about sustainability, and bringing in an eco aspect to wedding planning.
After bringing a beautifully bold black tiered cake to BAaD the year before, I knew this had to be the next shoot setting.
Barras Art and Design (BAaD) is a truly unique space in the heart of the East End of Glasgow just a stones throw from the City Centre.
The space is a large atrium under which lives a large internal courtyard area, perfect for hosting a wide variety of events, an award winning restaurant & bar, a number of shops and studios, as well as Glasgow’s first shipping container street food yard The BackYard.
The Barras area is of hugely significant historical importance to the city of Glasgow and the idea of BAaD is to help celebrate this
The venues mix of mid-century modern with industrial style, natural materials and the glass atrium made it perfect for bringing the outside in, and for showcasing some sustainable wedding inspiration so that’s just what we decided to do!
We used re-pottable plants displayed in salvaged gutters, vegan shoes, dresses made from bamboo silk, stationery made from re-cycled paper, jewellery repurposed and made from vintage pieces, and a minimalistic, on-trend cake table made by Susan.
