Today I am thrilled to share some stunning edgy bohemian wedding inspiration with rich jewel tones & hints of Morocco.
Images were captured by Julia Rabkin Creative Studios with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.
When the venue La Luna approached the planner Desireée Adams from Verve Event Co. to collaborate with them on a photo shoot, they wanted an editorial that showed showed their couples a different side of the space.
La Luna is a restaurant and event space situated along the Genesee River.
The high falls just behind the terrace of La Luna powered the multiple flour mills that once existed there, making Rochester the flour capital of the country.
The concept was a high-fashion editorial bohemian wedding inspiration styled shoot that was edgy with a touch of Moroccan.
Our custom fine art stationery giving an insight into the styling were all handmade by Louelle Design Studio.
The entire suite included the invitation, reply card, hand lettered envelopes with vintage stamp curation, a custom hand-drawn map of the venue and surrounding areas, and a suspended escort card display.
The invitation, inspired by the foliage used in the shoot, was letterpress on handmade and hand torn paper that was hand painted, making each one unique.
The invitation was then wrapped with a bronze velvet ribbon and finished with a copper wax seal.
Our ombré escort card display consisted of hand painted and torn paper suspended beneath salvaged driftwood with copper ink hand lettering.
For the fashion, we chose attire that was bohemian and edgy, and working with Lovely Bride Rochester, we chose the Riley Luxe dress by Made with Love.
The lace pattern on the bodice and plunging neckline gave it the bohemian and slightly Moroccan vibe.
To compliment our Brides gown hair and make up was applied by Avian Salon and Spa.
As a contrast, groom wore a dapper eggplant purple dinner jacket with black lapels from Vittorio Menswear & Tuxedo as we wanted something that was stylish but not typical for a wedding suit.
For our ceremony there was a simple backdrop for our couple handmade with a triangle of locally foraged hardwoods.
It naturally framed our bohemian couple and was adorned with a mixture of black mini Calla lilies, peach spray roses, dahlias, Quicksand Roses and standing amaranthus with agonist, acacia knifeblade, and coculus for foliage.
Grounding the ceremony was our geometric patterned rug, continuing our bohemian vibe.
Our florals from I Do Wedding Flowers were in keeping with our theme, with bouquets and table centrepiece mirroring the flowers used in the ceremony backdrop.
For greenery and texture, we included agonist, acacia knifeblade, and coculus, and finishing off the bohemian foliage were air plants – a grey artillery plant and a Howarthia – in copper pots.
The additional black china and black flatware paired with copper candlestick holders and teal tapered candles gave the table a modern vibe.
One of our favourite details was the copper ring that attached to our custom menu. It functioned as both a miniature vase and a placecard holder, while also weighing down each menu.
This small unexpected detail truly elevated the whole tablescape tenfold.
Because of the stunning setting behind the patio, we made sure to incorporate a lounge vignette that would allow guests a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Our emerald green couch was accompanied by Moroccan poufs, as well as floor pillows to give guests a chance to congregate.
We added a purple cabbage tree and fiddle leaf fig to continue our theme from The Botanist.
To complete the bohemian wedding inspiration styling our beautiful cake and desserts were created by Sinful Sweets .
