Today I am thrilled to share some gorgeous Charleston Garden Wedding Inspiration with luxurious blue, pink and purple accents.
Images were captured by Leigh Hayward Photography, and the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.
This luxury editorial garden wedding was planned by Haley Guthrie & Baylye Burnette of We Do! Charleston, a wedding planning and design company.
Their objective was to create moments that married lush floral arrangements and manicured landscaping to modern lines of physical structure and design.
The setting was the Governor Thomas Bennett House, circa 1825, is a grand house that encompasses a true Southern vignette of Old World sophistication.
The blue colour palette as well as a WD monogram were incorporated into the wedding day, and are a reflection We Do! Charleston branding.
To create a beautiful insight into the styling of the day a gorgeous monogrammed stationery suite was created by Tiny Shindigs.
The day began with the bride getting her hair and makeup done by Contours & Curls.
Once the bride’s Essence of Australia dress, from Gown Boutique of Charleston, was zipped, she was crowned with a gilded Emma Katzka tiara, and bridal portraits were taken inside the home.
Notable interior features included the Palladian window alcove and cantilevered staircase in the Grand Foyer. It is one of two found in the entire city of Charleston.
Roadside Blooms created unique and bold floral jewellery necklaces and bracelets for the bridal party.
Bloom-filled pocket squares dressed up the groom and groomsmen’s Michael Kors suits from Charleston Tuxedo, whilst he Bridesmaids wore different shades of lavender and plum from Bella Bridesmaids.
The ceremony was held on the crescent lawn opposing an ornate pineapple fountain.
Transparent ghost chairs added modern lines while still seamlessly blending into the grounds.
Roadside Blooms perfectly executed a floral archway sprouting with natural woody textures and pastel blossoms that served as the backdrop for “We Do”.
To introduce the ‘something blue’ colour palette, they designed double-sided custom ceremony program fans, die cut in the outline of our couple’s WD monogram.
The exterior of the property had so many fantastic characteristics leading to multiple excellent locations for newlywed photographs!
For instance, there was a large piazza overlooking manicured lawns, gardens full of seasonal plantings, and a 200 year old oak tree!
As they left the ceremony, guests were ushered into cocktail hour on the oyster tabby where there was a beautifully handmade bar from The French Eclectic who also provided inviting velvet lounge furniture.
It was framed with W and D marquee lights supplied by Alpha Lit Charleston whilst Lawler Beverage Co. poured a champagne tower, and in addition, the couple had a white cosmopolitan as their signature drink.
Guests sampled scrumptious hors d’oeuvres from Thurston Southern Catering.
A table, draped in pink velvet with a lace overlay, held the wedding cake designed by Dessert Designs by Gisela and complimented with cakesicles and sugar cookies stamped with “We Do”.
At the entrance to the garden reception, a white backdrop from Somethingood CHS held the seating chart which once again brought in more blue and modern lines.
Two handmade pine farm tables stood end-to-end, and overhead was a large wooden arbor adorned with capiz chandeliers and greenery.
Roadside Blooms created an entire garden on the tables that screamed springtime, and were dotted with potted plants on top of a greenery table runner.
Clear glass salad plates, decorated with rose quartz and flower cuttings, sat atop white napkins embroidered with blue WD monograms with linens being from La Tavola.
The table setting was all then placed upon grey stoneware.
Calligraphed place cards, on handmade blue paper, were tied with hand-dyed grey silk ribbon to the stems of pink goblets. In addition, prism pillar candle holders were nestled amongst the greenery and florals in order to catch light and reflect the pastel colour scheme.
WD Monogram motifs were prevalent throughout this event such as the dance floor decal, the wedding invitations, and the welcome bags for traveling guests.
As a fitting finale to the luxurious wedding, Lowcountry Valet provided a 1950 dove grey Packard getaway car, adorned with a hand-lettered cloth banner reading “it was always you”
