Today I am excited to share some Gorgeous I Love Lucy Retro Wedding Inspiration with red, white and hot pink details.
Images were captured by Peterson Design & Photography with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team.
Marisa + Tim of Peterson Design & Photography tell us about the shoot…
Originally set in an apartment building in New York City, I Love Lucy centres on Lucy Ricardo (Lucille Ball) and her singer/bandleader husband Ricky Ricardo (Desi Arnaz), along with their best friends and landlords Fred and Erhel Mertz.
Lucy is naïve and ambitious, with an undeserved zeal for stardom and a knack for getting herself and her husband into trouble whenever Lucy yearns to make it in show business.
The Ricardos’ best friends, Fred and Ethel, are former vaudevillians and this only strengthens Lucy’s resolve to prove herself as a performer. Unfortunately, she has few marketable performance skills.
The show provided Ball ample opportunity to display her considerable skill at clowning around and physical comedy.
This shoot celebrates the couples love story alongside some incredible retro wedding inspiration.
The setting for the shoot was The Harper, a creative space for private events in Orange County, California.
It offers a luxurious and comfortable atmosphere designed for you to feel the romance of the European countryside and the modern energy of urban life.
The colour palette of red, white and hot pink with the use of lots of textures really pops against the muted backdrop of the venue.
Planning and design for the shoot was curated by Anything But Gray Events, insight into the styling begins with an injection of colour pop with contemporary meets retro invitation suite by Roseville Designs.
The stunning custom pink attire made for shoot by RMINÉ was made to represent the contemporary woman Lucille Ball was, and the modern styles she wore over the years.
Her outfit is actually a two piece chiffon top, with an oversized belt and hot pink palazzo pants, and her ring is by Brilliant Earth.
For her make up, Beauty by Miss Ruby created a striking look with bold brows and coral lips.
Breath taking florals by Winston and Main including colourful ranunculous and anemones are resplendent in the bridal bouquet as well as table arrangements, and adorning the car.
To complement Lucy, her Ricky wears a sharp white tuxedo from Friar Tux.
Paper Moon Shoppe made a spectacular backdrop to look like the fire escape behind Lucy and Rickys apartment that they would often spend some time on.
The 3 dimensional 15ft set was covered in hand painted details with balloons to accessorise.
The exquisite tablescape is draped by a fabulous colourful balloon arch by Balloonzilla
Beautiful crockery and glassware, gold rimmed charger plates from Signature Party Rentals sit atop heart shaped napkins on candy stripe linen by BBJ Linens.
Tying in the pretty napkins and the skyline, there was a gorgeous cake and baked confectionary delights by Nicole Bakes Cakes.
There is also a relaxing lounge space with couch and chair by Collective Rentals, and a retro pink TV from Party Pieces By Perry sets the scene.
To bring the shoot to a close an incredible vintage car by Drive Vinty and adorned by spectacular florals proves to be an adorable ride.
