Today I am excited to share La La London, a beautiful London Wedding styled shoot inspired by jazz and retro romance.
Images were captured by Jay Emme Photography with the collaboration of an incredible creative team.
Tori of The Boutique says of the shoot…
We absolutely adore the 2016 film La La Land here at The Boutique.
The fabulously bright colours, uber cool dialogue, and retro choreography and score… oh, and did we mention RYAN GOSLING?
After seeing the film, we were hit by a moment of inspiration – let’s bring that sunshine and retro romance to London, a place with a long history of aspiring actors and jazz artists!
London is such a vibrant and cool city, and with so many couples choosing London as the destination for their wedding, this was perfect inspiration for brides to add some colour and retro glamour to their day.
We went location scouting one evening, and when we came across Dickie Fitz it couldn’t have been more perfect for our La La London shoot.
The vibrant yellow colours accompanied by these awesome celestial lights in the ceiling of the bar were spot on for the cool and colourful vibe we were looking for.
Choosing an iconic London bar/restaurant to host your wedding reception is a great choice for London weddings – they will rarely need much decoration and you will have a full kitchen staff readily available.
Jay Emme was the amazing photographer for this shoot – her bright, contemporary take on fine art film photography was exactly what we were looking for, and she didn’t disappoint!
The photo she captured of our groom dancing in the cobbled London mews street is just incredible (and this in 30C+ heat!).
Our bride was dressed in a simple white Matchimony tea length halter neck dress, perfectly chic and understated for a London wedding and accessorised with a sparkly belt and beaded headpiece from Victoria Millésime.
Hair and makeup from the Tori Harris Pro Team was perfect to complement the London jazz club setting – smokey eyes and loose curls that are both sexy and relaxed.
One of our favourite elements of the shoot was the vintage cinema seats prop that we used from Sorrel & Steve – planted in the middle of a cobbled mews street in central London and surrounded by lush flowers from Lady Bird Flowers, it was the perfect romantic setting for our couple, although we quite a few odd looks from passers by!
With such a huge element of dancing in the film, we simply couldn’t hold back from getting a few dancers involved in our shoot.
Confetti & Silk videographers captured them perfectly in their film, as well as the beautiful dappled sunlight in the little garden square outside Dickie Fitz.
Beautiful Film of the shoot by Confetti and Silk…
