Modern decor meets Vintage chic with a stunning emerald green wedding theme

Modern decor meets vintage chic with a stunning emerald green wedding theme for this incredible styled shoot shot in in Brisbane.

Images were captured by Ode Studios with concept by Elizabeth Crossley MUA.

Emerald green was my main inspiration for the shoot as I knew it was about to be a trend colour here in Australia in fashion, decor and weddings.

I also researched overseas colour trends as they usually flow over here as we are opposites seasonally.

It was refreshing to see alternatives to navy and blush pink which had been very popular, with Brides now changing it up with patterns.. miss matched.. non traditional colours etc

Once I had started my Pinterest inspiration board I knew wanted to name the shoot Arcadia for several reasons.

When I was younger there was a video game I used to play which had an area in the game called Arcadia.

The setting for this was big indoors greenhouse and the game had both vintage and futuristic aspects.

This memory stuck with me through the years and the name means a harmony with nature.

Its also associated with green and lushness and abundance, and all this combined set the tone.

Baedeker bar was our setting for the shoot, and its styling complimented the look we hoped to achieve beautifully.

We wanted to channel a little bit of an Art Deco theme with a sumptuous emerald palette, complimented by black and gold.

Blending the glamorous vintage feel with a modern tropical twist, pretty fan detail was evident in the beautiful foil stationery, delicate headpieces, sprays of flowers and the canopy of palms spanning the tablescape.

Working with Bridal designer Gwendolynne was a no brainer.. as her work is phenomenal..and her gowns, luxe and vintage were the perfect fit for the shoot.

The bride wore a vintage beaded wedding dress beside her velvet-clad bridesmaid in an acknowledgement to a bygone era.

We had feature grazing boards as a nod to Cocktail Hour, and the spectacular jet black wedding cake topped with glossy leaves and cascading painted orchids added a sense of drama to the scene!

I chose all the vendors because I knew they could bring their own vision to my emerald green wedding concept, and they followed through absolutely beautifully.
