Today I am thrilled to share this exquisite urban romance inspired wedding styled shoot with tones of muted purple and pewter.
Fiona says of the shoot…
We brought together a collective of innovative wedding suppliers to create this inspiration shoot in which we pay homage to London and to our love of romance and weddings, with an idea and vision for the shoot was convey bold, urban romanticism.
We have all loved the shiny, bright metallics which have dominated recent years but we wanted to move this forward with more muted metallics.
We needed tones that fitted with our theme of an Urban Romance inspired Wedding so bringing a tone perfectly at home in a timeless painting by a Great Master, but which would also absolutely evoke the grittiness of modern London, we chose Pewter.
We scouted for the perfect backdrop; and The Culpeper in Shoreditch was the ideal venue.
It has the vibe of the bygone East End but has been styled immaculately with contemporary features sympathetic to its history with the jewel in its crown being the rooftop garden with incomparable views of the City.
The dress was designed by Audrey Ashley Culture. It was flowing, had movement and texture, and was gently toned grey, and perfectly encapsulated the look we were wanting. To contrast these tones we just had to have a striking auburn-haired beauty as our model, and Grace Gray was amazing.
The makeup and hair was styled by Makeup In Orangeries, and the look created for the hair and make-up was organic and wild.
Enhancing the natural tones of the skin and softly smoked up the lids with a matte pewter eyeshadow was the perfect way to work with the colours surrounding her.
For the hair, two different styles were showcased, a mermaid braid focused down the back and then a gathered braided up-do.
Pulling out the braids also added texture, volume and more natural touch.
The cake was designed by the fashion-forward Butter Beautiful. Being inspired by concrete, texture, and the skyscraper, a cake was created which sat perfectly with the London Skyline.
Using the latest trends in cake design, the brushstroke effect complemented the style of the shoot with the grey and pewter tones.
The wedding stationery by Dimitria Jordan was clean, modern, and sophisticated in shades of dark grey toned with the pewter adding contrast with the flowers and styling.
The table plan was displayed on the stairs for guests to see when they walk up – this added an interactive element and worked perfectly against the brick backdrop, adding a chic ‘city’ texture.
For the flowers, Boom Blooms chose lilac tones to enhance, and soften, the boldness of the pewter and grey.
She wonderfully brought the romantic side of the Urban Romance with the tablescape abundantly arranged with textural and architectural flora placed within pewter vessels.. The bouquet was wildly and loosely arranged too which contrasted with the urban backdrop.
Occasion Queens evolved the concept of working with pewter to suit the venue, softening the look and creating elegant romance with the use of dusky pinks in the final touches along with dark greys to ensure cohesion with all the elements including the stationery and the cake.
It was important that the historical charm of pewter vessels and trays sat comfortably next to the modern city landscape so keeping an eye on the smaller details kept a unity across all the elements of this truly stunning shoot.
Thank you so much to Fiona and the team who have unified timeless elegance, romance, and style together with contemporary chic and urban grit, to create a magical outcome, and inspiration for couples for their most special of days.
