Today I am delighted to spotlight on the beautiful and contemporary hand illustrated wedding stationery of Ochre Weddings.
Her watercolour designs give her designs a an elegant, sophisticated touch and range from wild blooms to bold, minimalist patterns.
I hand you over to Becca to tell you all about her blossoming Business…
Who are you, and what do you do?
Hello! I’m Becca, owner and designer of Ochre Weddings – a boutique wedding stationery design company.
I hand-illustrate beautiful and unique wedding stationery with contemporary couples in mind.
My unique design collections range from whimsical florals to bold, modern designs to perfectly suit any wedding theme.
I love working closely with each of my couples to craft exclusive and bespoke designs that are totally individual.
I aim to make all my clients’ wedding days really sparkle and can accommodate any special requests. I love crafting unique wedding stationery and crafting really stand-out designs.
When and why did you start your Company?
I started Ochre Weddings around a year ago with the aim to bring to the wedding stationery market unique, bespoke designs without the price tag!
I’ve been a freelance graphic designer for a few years now and after designing several friends’ wedding invitations, it struck me what I wanted to do long term – be creative, craft stunning designs and put a smile on every one of my client’s faces.
Ochre Weddings has grown out of a passion for design and a love of all things wedding!
What inspires you?
I find inspiration everywhere – in nature, in art, in the changing seasons.
I think a huge part of my inspiration also stems from other influencers in the wedding industry and seeing their work appreciated.
Wedding suppliers I work with are so dedicated and passionate about what they do – that’s a real inspiration.
Do trends influence your work?
I love experimenting with different finishes, different papers and watercolour techniques.
So, if there’s a lot of trends appearing on my Instagram feed, I like to take elements of each and combine them into something that I haven’t seen before.
Trends influence the way I look at my work and also how I approach it.
Do you have a favourite wedding style?
I adore moody wedding décor against a rustic backdrop.
Think low lighting, charcoal greys and hints of sultry crimson tones.
I really like the refashioning of this style and move away from the traditional archetype wedding styling.
It’s a kind of subtle elegance which I think is so sophisticated!
What do you love most about your Job?
It has to be working with individual couples.
Everyone is so different and every wedding is completely unique as a result.
My main aim with Ochre Weddings is to provide bride and grooms-to-be with completely bespoke designs.
So it’s my favourite thing to be given a design brief and really hit the mark.
Understanding my couples and who they are really has an impact on the designs I produce and I love getting to know the quirks of everyone I work with.
What do you do in your chill time/perfect day off?
Chilling out with my puppy is the ultimate day off – long walks, late morning coffee and snuggling on the sofa is the best end to a hectic week and gives me the down time I need to recharge.
Add in a glass or three of prosecco and I’ve reached the perfect day!
What is your greatest achievement?
It has to be having the guts to start up my own business.
In a saturated wedding market it certainly hasn’t been plain sailing but it’s been one of the most rewarding and fulfilling things I’ve ever done.
I’m so proud of all I’ve achieved so far and I can’t wait to watch Ochre Weddings grow more over the coming years!
What do you see as the future of your Company?
It would be amazing to grow Ochre Weddings into a recognised brand name!
Saying that, I also want to keep it small enough to not feel impersonal – I don’t want to lose that close contact I have with couples or to just outsource all the design work.
I always want to be an integral part of the company and grow with it!
Becca would love to hear about any wedding stationery ideas or bespoke requests, so please get in touch!
