Beautiful contemporary occasion stationery from Dearly Beloved Design

Today I am thrilled to share the beautiful contemporary occasion stationery of Dearly Beloved Design.

Creative team Abigail and Ben Aslett work together from their South West based home studio, to help modern couples tie the knot in style.

I hand over to the couple to tell us about their blossoming Business…

Who are you, and what do you do?

We are Dearly Beloved, a husband and wife creative team who specialise in creating contemporary occasion stationery including wedding invitations, table plans, greetings cards, wedding day signage and more.

When and why did you start your Company?

We have been designing together since meeting at university over a decade ago but officially started up Dearly Beloved in 2015.

After a few wedding projects we realised how much we loved working with couple’s to make their wedding vision become a reality.

What inspires you?

We are inspired by all sorts of things from mid century children’s book illustration to vintage typography; we also like to allow everyday things to inform our work whether that means taking photos of interesting colour and patterns on holiday or collecting old packaging from car boot sales.

When it comes to creating bespoke invitation designs we encourage couples to send over their favourite things for us to work from.

By sending us chosen details such as their favourite poem or a photo of their venue and we can represent them as couple on paper.

Do trends influence your work?

Naturally trends play a part in our designs it’s always great to keep an eye on what’s happening next in the wedding world and the design world.

However what’s most important to us is creating work that will make the guests at each wedding look around the room and think “this is so them”.

What do you do in your chill time/perfect day off?

Our perfect day off includes good food, a bottle of red wine and some time by the sea.

What is your greatest achievement?

We actually tied the knot ourselves last September which was definitely one of the greatest things we have ever done.

From beginning to end we had an amazing day surrounded by our friends and family (also Abi wore a cape which was top of her bucket list!)

We can also officially call ourselves an award winning design company after scooping Wedding Product of the Year at the Not On The High Street Make Awards in 2016.

Since then we have been finalists for The Wedding Industry Awards 2017 and South West Wedding Awards 2018 too.

What do you see as the future of your Company?

We would to love continue to grow our collections to include more ready made stationery collections, children’s party designs and eventually artwork for the home.

It’s great working with couples tying the knot and we would love to develop the company to grow as our couples do.

These fresh stylish designs will thrill your guests both when they pop through the post and in your on the day stationery too.

As experienced artists and designers Abi and Ben know how to interpret your day into beautiful visuals and who doesn’t love a little paper pretty!
