Today I am thrilled to spotlight on the gorgeous floral headbands from Rosey Posey Creations, perfect for any occasion.
Cathy and Claire are a mother / daughter team from Torquay in Devon who work together on the Brand.
I hand over to Claire to tell you all about this flourishing Business…
Who are you and what do you do?
“My name is Claire and I run Rosey Posey Creations with my mum, Cathy.”
“We make a wide range of floral headbands, crowns, fascinators hair combs and hair grips.”
“We also make bespoke creations for brides who want them for their big day, as well as for their bridesmaids and flower girls.”
“We use beautiful roses made of mulberry paper which look incredibly realistic and last forever.”
When and why did you start your company?
“We started our company in December of 2012.”
“Mum and I were shopping in London when I saw a lovely woollen headband with a single rose on it.”
“I looked at the price tag and was astounded to see £45 for which I thought was very steep.”
“My mum said ‘I can make something like that Claire!’ and sure enough, a couple of days later I received a deep purple woollen headband with a rose on a sequin embellishment in the post which she had made.”
“I thought it was absolutely beautiful so I decided to make them myself for my friends Christmas presents.”
“After receiving such positive comments, Mum and I decided to start a facebook page and apply for a stall in a craft fair.”
“Suddenly we had orders coming in from strangers and started about making new creations with the roses.”
“Two years on and here we are with a website, wedding magazine and blog features and several photo shoots under our belt.”
“We really enjoy designing and making floral creations and are so happy that our business is continuing to grow.”
“It is an amazing feeling to work with a bride on making her dream floral headband for her wedding and knowing that she will be wearing something you made on the biggest day of her life.”
What inspires you?
“We take a lot of inspiration from magazines, catwalks and trends.”
“Pinterest is a fantastic place to get inspiration from as well – I could spend hours on there!”
Do trends influence your work?
“We certainly keep an eye on what is in fashion and on the catwalk at the moment.”
“For example, Pixie Lott wore cat ears last year and a customer requested a pair for her two daughters.”
“We put our own spin on them (obviously having roses!) and we had a very happy customer.”
“It’s always good to know which colours and types of materials are being worn so you can keep with the moving times.”
“Apart from that, we believe floral headwear is timeless and there will always be brides who want to wear them on their big day or hipsters who want to wear them to festivals.”
“It just so happens I saw this week that floral headbands are very on trend this wedding season so we are very happy with that!”
What is your greatest achievement?
“We feel immensely proud when a shop wants to stock our creations. Also when we see them in a wedding magazine or in a styled photo shoot. I hope to say one day that our greatest achievement was making a floral crown for the Queen!”
What do you see as the future for your company?
“We would like to continue to expand our company.”
“We want to make lots of new products but keep our personal approach.”
“We have a new home ware and gifts range coming up so we are busy beavering away with that.”
“We aim to get a bigger and better website to showcase our makes and have another big plan in the pipeline which we can’t divulge just yet sorry!”
“We also really enjoy doing styled photo shoots so if there are any bridal boutiques, makeup artists, hair stylists and photographers who would like to collaborate please get in touch!”
Thanks so much to Claire and Cathy for sharing their gorgeous floral headbands.
Such a huge trend that transcends weddings to all occasions and has been a trend that has regenerated from generations past.
