Today I am delighted to spotlight on the beautiful rustic inspired Wedding stationery of Cate Darcy Designs.
Cate is based in her little home studio on the outskirts of Cambridge and her passion is to create a range of paper goods that are perfect for lovers of nostalgic, old-fashioned, pretty things, whether for a wedding or for everyday gifts and greetings.
I hand over to Cate to share the story of her brand…
Who are you and what do you do?
“I’m Cate, I design rustic inspired stationery with a bohemian style at it’s core.”
“I like to finish my designs with some twine, or embellishment that adds that little extra rustic charm.”
When and why did you start your company?
“I launched Cate Darcy in 2014 as a bespoke only wedding stationer, I was so busy making invitations for family and friends, I decided this was something I really wanted to pursue.”
“I am so glad I did, it has been a really exciting journey and I just love designing wedding stationery to reflect a couples special day.”
What inspires you?
“I am often inspired by interior design, I love shabby chic interiors and rustic, country weddings.”
“I really appreciate the simplicity and relaxed style of boho, where nothing is too formal.”
Do trends influence your work?
“To an extent yes, I stay true to my style, but I do think it’s important for me to keep up to date with trends and incorporate these in my designs.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“So far in business, starting the business has been such a great achievement for me, it was never something I ever thought I could do and it’s the best decision I ever made.”
“It has been tough at times but I wouldn’t change it.”
“Also, launching my 6 house collections has been wonderful, they have been really well received since the launch in January which is great, I love that I can now offer couples ready made collections as well as bespoke designs.”
What do you see as the future of your company?
“I would like to continue to grow the company by offering a variety of new designs each year so couples have a wide range of stationery to choose from.”
“I am currently working on expanding my house collections and hope to launch another three rustic inspired designs in the spring.”
