To kick off the week I am thrilled to spotlight on Oyster & Pearl Design, a bespoke wedding stationery and design studio specialising in beautifully designed and exquisitely produced wedding stationery.
The Brand is based in the heart of the Devon countryside…
I hand you over to Casey to share her story…
Who are you, and what do you do?
“Oyster & Pearl Design is essentially me, Casey, working from my studio in the heart of the Devon countryside.”
“Oyster & Pearl works in two ways. Firstly, I offer a completely bespoke and individual service, working with clients to create a design that really reflects their unique personality.”
“Every aspect of their day would be considered, from invitations to thank you cards.”
“Secondly, still with the aim of providing exceptionally beautiful stationery, clients can choose a design from my custom collection.”
“This will then be tailored to reflect their individual style and taste.”
“My background is in design, and after graduating from university I went to work for one of London’s top design agencies.”
“With 10 years’ award-winning graphic design experience behind me, the knowledge I gained has been invaluable in creating Oyster & Pearl.”
“Although my time in agencies has been fantastic, much of my work is for large corporate clients rather than individuals.”
“This is the reason I love designing for weddings so much, it’s far more personal.”
“The opportunity to work closely with two people to create something really special and unique to them is wonderful.”
When and why did you start your Company?
“Oyster & Pearl Design began officially in June last year, after creating the designs for my own wedding the previous year.”
“Before then I had always been busy designing stationery for friends and friends of friends, which I loved.”
“However, it was only after our wedding and the experience I gained, that I finally felt ready to take the leap and start up on my own.”
“Bespoke Wedding stationery has been a dream and a passion of mine for a long time, so it’s really exciting for it to have finally become a reality.”
What inspires you?
“Typography is my true love and the inspiration behind most of my work. I love typefaces and the opportunity they offer to create such different solutions.”
“If I had to describe my style I would say it is contemporary, elegant and typographic, with a passion for beautiful finishes and materials.”
“Ever since I can remember I have always been besotted with beautiful papers, and I am the very proud owner of an impressive collection of ribbon.”
Do trends influence your work?
“I definitely keep an eye out for the latest trends but I wouldn’t describe myself as a trend follower really.”
“My ambition is always just to create designs that my clients will love.”
“That’s not to say I’m not constantly seeking new inspiration. I’m always on the look out for new materials and techniques to use in my work.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“I would say Oyster & Pearl’s greatest achievement to date would be working with B.loved on one of their styled shoots designing a bespoke stationery suite.”
“It was a fantastic opportunity and I loved every second of it, I was also incredibly proud when the shoot was selected by Ruffled to be featured on their blog.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“In the future I hope Oyster & Pearl will continue to grow and keep on creating beautiful stationery.”
“It’s so new and exciting for me that there are still so many things I want to achieve.”
“I also have a lot of ideas for new ranges, which I hope to launch very soon. It’s just a case of finding the time between my bespoke commissions but I’m loving every minute.”
Thank you so much to Casey for sharing her lovely bespoke Wedding stationery.
I am very much a fan of the typographic style in that it is bold, beautiful and clear even in its simplicity, and Caseys work is just gorgeous.
