I hand over to the lovely Hannah to tell you all about her Business…

Who are you, and what do you do?

“Hello! Well, I’m Hannah and my business is Bride and bloom which offers a bespoke wedding flower and styling service using gorgeous seasonal British Flowers.”

“My style definitely has a wild and natural feel so suits those after something a bit different.”

“To be honest though, my philosophy for Bride and bloom is more than just flowers… it’s about the whole experience for my couples.”

“I pride myself in offering a super personal service to my Brides and Grooms and meeting my prospective couples is SO important to me!”

“I just LOVE a good wedding and hearing all their ideas; it’s basically a chance for my couples to download their “vision” of their big day into my brain so I can help create the look they are after! I actually love this aspect as much as putting the flowers together!”

“It’s also important that my couples understand a bit more about British flowers and why we should use them…. they are certainly more characterful than imported flowers, are much more natural, romantic and they smell amazing!”

“I use several local growers in Worcestershire and a few from Cornwall which not only means we’re keeping British businesses going but have a much lower carbon footprint as the majority of imported flowers travel over 3000 miles!”

When and why did you start your Company?

“Officially April 2013, but the seed to start up a business was planted after Jez and I got married in 2011.”

“Of course I loved getting married to Jez but I also loved putting the flowers together, all the organising and styling elements that go into a wedding.”

“I suppose it was a whirlwind and eye-opening introduction to the wedding industry and I knew I wanted to be part of it.”

What inspires you?

“Wow – there’s alot… a few though include: Mother nature – I love the change in seasons… even Winter!”

“Other amazing floral designers such as Pyrus and the blue carrot.”

“Photography, Mark Rothko’s art, childhood memories, Olive my daughter and Jez (my husband) for putting up with my ever expanding vase collection!”

Do trends influence your work?

“Having worked in fashion I do sub-consciously pick up on trends, especially colours and certain flowers that might become fashionable… Café Au Lait Dahlias are currently having a moment!”

“Mostly though, these are influences which I adopt into my own wild and natural style for my Brides and Grooms.”

What is your greatest achievement?

“Being contacted by Vogue and seeing Bride and bloom listed under “Vogue’s dream Wedding” was definitely up there but I do take a lot of pride in the feedback I get from my clients.”

“It’s always nice to hear that your work was loved especially on the most important day of a Bride and Grooms lives!!”

What do you see as the future of your Company?

“Well, I have just launched Bride and blooms floral workshops for creative hen dos and anyone else who wants to have a go!”

“I’d like to expand on these further by offering different price point options but for now will craft some floral crowns with my willing hens!”

“Wedding Day Management is also on the cards… through the planning and creating of a couple’s wedding flowers I do become very involved with the wedding day itself so actually offering to be on hand to over-see the running of the day makes sense… watch this space”
