Cross My Heart Bridal – Maltese Bridal Designs

Today I am delighted to spotlight on Bridal gown label Cross My Heart Bridal who have launched into the UK Bridal market.

The name Cross My Heart symbolises the team of designers’ origins from the Isle of Malta, a tiny island with a history worth its weight in gold.

A culmination of supreme fit with exquisite finishing, Cross My Heart brings meticulous attention to every detail that sets their dresses apart to make the bride’s day not just more comfortable, but even more special.

The brand’s premiere collection – Mediterranea – was launched in September 2013 at the British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate and is moving from strength to strength with another three gorgeous collections since then.

Their inspiration comes from picturesque and historical surroundings, and each gown has its own unique character.

The laid-back Mediterranean combined with its flamboyant lifestyle is ever-present in our design.

Their selection of Bridal wear is carefully thought-out and created by our team of designers to produce something special, beautiful and most of all different.

The focus of each Cross My Heart bridal gown is luxurious fabric, divine beading work and a unique cut.

The range provides a diverse collection of elegantly designed wedding dresses ranging from glamorous French chiffon to delicate, detailed laces.

Each of their gowns come with complete support within the construction of the bodice, featuring no less than 13 bones and exquisite finishing, whilst at the same time offering exceptional value for money.

The superior construction on all their gowns will ensure the bride’s complete confidence on her special day.

Their gowns do not compromise on quality but still offer superior value. Plus, with a range of finishing options, such as a lace or zip-up back, a bride can customise her gown to best suit her own taste.

I spoke to Creative Director Steven Jones about the Brand….

Who created the Cross my Heart brand and when did the label first launch to retailers?

“The Brand Cross my heart was created by myself following work in the fashion and photography industry for over 15 years.”

“The premiere collection “The Meditteranea Collection”was launched in September 2013 at the British Bridal Exhibition Harrogate UK, the second collection “The Medina Collection” was launched in April 2014.”

How has the business evolved since this time?

“Despite it’s early entry into the international market we can proudly announce that the label has been a resounding success.”

“Our label is now available in Lithuania, The United States, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Australia and of course in Malta. So that is 13 retailers in total in the last 9 months.”

Where are the gowns designed and made, and how integral is this to the identity of the brand?

“The gowns are designed in Malta, the fabrics and laces are hand-picked by our team of designers to create something unique that will give the label it’s true identity.”

“To offer a value for money proposition we have opted to have the gowns manufactured in China.”

“It was a painstaking process of trialling many manufacturers till we finally found manufacturers who not only interpreted our designs well but also understood the ethos and image we are trying to create.”

What prompted you to target the UK market and how have British retailers responded to the brand?

“The British and Maltese have always had a great affinity over many years, it seemed like the most natural progression outside our homeland to move into these markets.”

“We knew would be well received by the British retailers and ultimately brides, and this confidence in the label has been proven by the amazing result we have had in such a short period of time.”

How would you describe Cross my Heart’s signature style?

“The focus of each Cross My Heart gown is luxurious fabric, divine beading work and a unique cut.”

“Each of our gowns come with complete support within the construction of the bodice, featuring no less than 13 bones and exquisite finishing, whilst at the same time offering exceptional value for money.”

“In a word “Mediterranean” would best sum up our inspiration.”

Which fabrics are used in the designs and why?

“The range is daring, with many of the gowns featuring Schiffli lace, using classic timeless designs with a modern feel.”

“This variety of lace is typical of the region and gives the designs a distinct look.”

“There is also a selection of satin gowns with touches of lace as well as free-flowing gowns with simple and elegant fabrics.”

Which gown from the collection do you predict will be the best-seller and why?

“Hmmm that’s like asking who your favourite child is!”

“We have had orders for the gown just based on its description and the Tea length version Lucia from the Mediterranea collection.”

“From the Santonia collection we believe that Paulina, Fidelita, Regina and Parrapetta will be winners with satin making a big come back in bridal.”
