Today I am thrilled to spotlight on Dreaming Spires – the 2020 collection of bridal accessories from Glorious By Heidi, a stunning array of classic tiaras and jewellery reimagined for modern brides.
Images of the collection were captured by Charlotte Palazzo Photography.
‘Dreaming Spires’ the 2020 collection of bridal accessories from award winning accessory designer Heidi Reid, takes the essence of the traditional tiaras as we know and love them, and brings them bang up to date for modern brides.
‘When I started designing accessories for brides back in 2012, everyone wanted a pretty tiara with a bit of sparkle to wear on their wedding day, then all of a sudden even the word ‘tiara’ had fallen out of fashion.’
‘Tiaras were considered a bit tired – something your mum wanted you to wear, but way too princessy for most brides.’
‘But then Kate, Meghan and Eugenie happened, and suddenly we fell in love with the tiara all over again.’
The collection features nine key pieces and their accompanying hairpins and earrings with a focus firmly on giving brides the breathtaking, eye-catching tiara shaped pieces that they crave, but with less pretty sparkle, and lots more sass.
The Dreaming Spires full headpieces give today’s modern brides an accessory that expresses a uniquely feminine strength whilst providing the perfect compliment to this season’s simply cut, contemporary designer gowns, in luxurious fabrics as seen at the UK’s key bridal buyers shows.
And saving the best til last, just as in the great tradition of many 19th century royal tiaras, many of the Dreaming Spires full headpiece designs transform into statement necklaces to be worn again and again after your wedding day.
Amina Halo
The Amina Halo takes as it’s inspiration the form of Queen Mary’s fringe tiara worn by Queen Elizabeth on her wedding day.
Amina features spires of metallic gold crystals and ivory pearls set on gold plated flexible wires, and looks fabulous accessorising one of this season’s elegant, simply cut wedding gowns.
Amina transforms into a statement necklace to be worn after your wedding day.
Iliana Halo
Leaves have always had a strong presence in royal tiara design.
The silver mesh leaves that form the foil for the oh-so-regal sapphire blue Swarovski crystals in this piece give a strong nod to that tradition while keeping things fresh through the use of silver mesh.
Iliana transforms into a stunning necklace to be worn after your wedding day.
Luna Tiara, Hair Pins and Earrings
Loved by bridal babes mooning after the celestial vibe, Luna stays true to the grand tradition of Victorian tiara designers by featuring bold, shimmering stars rising up from the crown, and a few moons for good measure.
Luna looks particularly delicious when teamed with other gold bridal accents, and when worn with a full length Cathedral veil.
Olivia Halo
This show-stopping piece gives another nod to the tradition of the leaf pattern in traditional tiaras.
This time in gold, using Swarovski crystals in another favourite of renowned noblewomen, the Emerald.
Olivia cries out to be worn as a statement necklace at every possible occasion after your wedding day.
Aurora Tiara
Italian noble women of the 19th century were partial to a flowering wreath design in their headpieces and the Aurora Tiara featuring porcelain buds, corn flower blue crystals and white enameled flowers is in homage to this.
This piece looks fabulous worn with the floral lace applique gowns that were everywhere on the bridal catwalks this Autumn.
Mia Headpiece
Dialling it down and keeping the look cool and contemporary is what Mia is all about.
With more angular shaping than your regular bridal headwear, Mia is a design for sharp, sassy, modern brides. Mia is available in silver or gold.
Kryssy Tiara
Kryssy is the pretty one! Delicate undulations of crystals set on flexible wires make this the piece for brides seeking understated romance.
Kryssy is available in silver or gold tones and can be worn as a twinkling necklace after your wedding day.
