Today I am delighted to shine the spotlight on Natural Favours who creates personalised wildflower & bird seed wedding favours, real flower petal confetti & gifts.
I hand you over to Ruth to find out all about the Business…
Who are you, and what do you do?
“Hello, I am Ruth Keeley and I run the little business known as Natural Favours.”
“We sell a collection of wildflower & bird seed packets which can all be personalised, real flower petal confetti, place setters and an expanding collection of wedding decorations and favours.”
When and why did you start your Company?
“We started in the summer of 2014 after moving into our little Derbyshire cottage and being inspired by the fantastic wild garden that came with the property.
“I started to collect seeds initially, and then this expanded to experimenting with drying flower petals, and Natural Favours was born!”
“We just had to find a way of sharing our garden with the world!”
What inspires you?
“I’m inspired by all things natural and anything that promotes a healthier environment.”
“For example, our wildflower seed packets encourage people to plant more flowers which in turn benefits bees and butterflies.”
“Our packaging is made from recycled materials which also reflects our eco-friendly ethos.”
“We stamp our packaging by hand with stamps that were made bespoke for us which fits in with our natural, rustic feel.”
Do trends influence your work?
“Our trend is all about beautiful eco-friendly and environmentally sound wedding favours and gifts.”
“We feel this theme fits in with most trends and although we often add new designs and products, our core values remain the same.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“We have been lucky enough to have our products stocked in some local high street shops in Derbyshire which is fantastic.”
“We are also working with Long Clawson Dairy in Leicestershire who have launched a novel range of cheese wedding cakes.”
“Every cake sold comes with 2 packets of our real flower petal confetti. This is a really exciting partnership and we are looking forward to seeing how it develops in 2015.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“We are always looking ahead to the future and thinking about how we can improve or expand our services.”
“Ultimately my dream would be to have the space and expertise to grow all the seeds and petals for our products in house.”
“At present we have achieved this with our wildflower seed range and some of our petals.”
“Where we cannot grow our own petals we source from other respected British growers.”
“To have a plot of land large enough for a confetti crop and even a cut-flower patch would be a real dream come true!”
” To add, at the moment we are growing the wedding flowers for a good friend’s Aug 2015 wedding, a real challenge but very exciting at the same time.”
“If this is a success then we hope to add a cut-flower service to a our business which would be really fantastic.”
Thank you so much to Ruth for sharing her fabulous work and these lovely products.
As global environmental destruction increases its important that we look after our world with being as environmentally thoughtful as possible.
Creating these products from what we have and what we grow is playing a small but essential part in our environmental protection, whilst making something pretty and useful too.
And guests will love them as they can watch beautiful blooms grow in their own gardens and remember the special day they were part of.
