Today I am thrilled to share the work of ‘Shiny Little Blessings‘ who creates handcrafted artisan jewellery that is all about celebrating the blessings in your life and expressing yourself through them.
From gifts for Moms and Grandmas, and other special family members to prom jewellery, religious jewellery and beautiful pieces for Weddings, each design is crafted with love and meaning.
I hand over to Sabine Schoepke to tell you all about her wonderful Business …
Who are you, and what do you do?
“My name is Sabine and I am the owner of ‘Shiny Little Blessings’.
“Shiny Little Blessings’ is handcrafted artisan jewellery with meaning.”
“Each piece is lovingly custom designed and created, as well as gift packaged, with one goal in mind: to make it meaningful for my customers!”
When and why did you start your Company?
“I left the corporate world, because even though I had a ‘good job’, I saw no value in what I was doing.”
“I wanted to feel passionate about my work and I wanted it to be meaningful.”
“Besides creating meaningful jewelry and thoughtful gifts (let’s admit it, we all have enough STUFF that loses its meaning shortly after we have purchased it or that gets ‘re-gifted’ ).
“I have created a workplace for myself and other moms, where we can pour our hearts and souls into what we do.”
“From jewellery design and jewellery making, to photography, modelling, PR and marketing, we are each passionate about what we do, while still being Moms and taking care of our children and families.”
“I started ‘Shiny Little Blessings’ in 2009 out of a spare bedroom and I am so grateful for all of the wonderful customers who have shared their stories with me since then.”
“They have helped me to take my passion from that one spare bedroom all the way to being a featured artist at the 2015 Emmy Awards.”
“Also, I am blessed to have a job that keeps me grounded. My customers’ stories remind me to slow down and count MY blessings (my family, my children, being healthy), as well as that anything is possible.”
“It has also shown my children early on in their lives, that following your heart might not always be easy, but it is so worth it.”
What inspires you?
“Life!! Because life happens all the time: the good, the bad and the every day.”
‘Shiny Little Blessings’ is a careful transformation of life’s most important emotions – love, sorrow, compassion, pride and passion – into an artistic creation of jewellery.”
“For me, each piece celebrates the blessings in our lives and therefore tells a little bit of a life story.”
“It is a reminder of how amazing and precious life is.”
“From exciting new beginnings (a new baby or a wedding) to great achievements (a graduation, an anniversary or a marathon) to unimaginable losses (like losing a child), I work with my customers to custom design THEIR piece of jewelry.”
“Lovingly gift it to the ones you love, quietly wear it close to your heart, or proudly shout it from the rooftops. ”
Do trends influence your work?
“No. I always say ”I am more traditional than trendy.”
“I do get excited about new supplies and materials that come out, but my jewelry is not trendy.”
“You buy a piece now and it will still look fabulous on you in 20 years, because most important is the quality and the meaning behind it.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“That I believed in my dream and persisted – to do what I love for a living.”
“I have created a life for myself where I don’t make tons of money, but where I am happy. I am proud to say that I have no regrets.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“I would like to grow a little bit more and give a few more moms the opportunity to work with me in this environment where they can do what they love.”
“Yet where they have the flexibility to take care of their children and families.”
“I also would love to find a few more websites that want to sell my jewelry.”
“I have a couple of websites I am already working with here in the USA and we are currently working to get set up in Japan. I am originally from Germany, so a European website would be fantastic.”
“To conclude like the good old days: pride in handmade craftsmanship and a personal relationship with each individual customer.”
‘Shiny Little Blessings’ is about craftsmanship and quality materials, but just as importantly, it is about the customer.”
“It is about THEIR story. It is about turning their precious memories into hand crafted artisan jewellery.”
“I love what I do and I get great pleasure out of interacting and building lasting relationships with my customers.”
