Kalli Weddings Wedding Calligraphy – Inscribe your Love

Today I am delighted to share feature the beautiful work of  Terri at Kalli Weddings, creator of  Wedding stationery and Wedding calligraphy handcrafted in styles from timeless to modern and unique.

Kalli was born from a wish to offer something both different and affordable, by combining the elegance of hand calligraphy with printing processes.

I hand over to Terri who is the owner of Kalli Weddings to tell you all about her fresh new Business,

Who are you and what do you do ?

“We are Kalli Weddings and we provide a wedding stationery and calligraphy service.”

“We offer a range of “ready” designs that are fully customisable to a customer’s theme or colour scheme and also a bespoke design service.”

“We do everything in our studio in Essex but are proud to say we offer a worldwide service.”

When and why did you start your Business?

“We were initially started because of a gap in the wedding industry that needed filling. I found that Calligraphy options were very limited to couples.”

“They could choose wedding stationery that was mass produced, or stationery that used hand written calligraphy and was budget breaking in price.”

“We want to prove that actually wedding calligraphy doesn’t need to be expensive, and by combining hand written calligraphy with print you can achieve stationery that has all of the elegance and style without the expensive price tag.”

“We pride ourselves on being able to offer such stationery to suit any budget.”

“With this in mind Kalli Weddings was born as a part time venture in early 2012, but we quickly realised we needed more of a social platform and full time hours to meet expectations.”

“Our website finally went live in January 2013.”

What inspires you?

“We only have a small team here but we all have artistic backgrounds.”

“Having such creative minds working together is fantastic. We take inspiration and ideas from each other as well as sources such as blogs, magazines and generally anything around us!”

“Having said that our biggest inspiration is probably our clients. Working with couples on bespoke stationery is amazing.”

“We have an informal questionnaire during consultations that give us an insight into what the couple are like, what interests they have etc and then take away ideas for the design of their stationery.”

“Seeing them so excited about their big day is the biggest inspiration to create that perfect product for them.”

Do trends have any impact on your design ?

“Absolutely. Our ethos has always been to be original in our creations.”

“Our “ready” designs reflect our simple, understated style but in bespoke designs we see trends emerging from client’s requests constantly.”

“We are always happy to create products whether they are “on trend” or not.”

What has been your greatest achievement?

“The support we have received from other wedding suppliers is just amazing and I see that as a huge achievement personally. Their support means a lot to us and gives us reassurance that we’re doing something right!”

“Another achievement we are proud of is our Queen of Wedding Stationery small business award. Run on twitter every week, @ADG_IQ offers small businesses the chance to explain why they are queen of their industry and awards two winners per week.”

“The support and exposure he gives them is great so we are particularly proud that he has recognised Kalli Weddings as deserving winners.”

Whats the future for your Business?

“We are seeing an increase in customer requests for stationery for occasions other than weddings, so our next move is to build our portfolio for this and set up a sister company to provide this service.”

“We also have a lot of requests for calligraphy commissions for things like poems and framed gifts so again we will be moving to set this up as a separate service in the near future.”
